I think I need this, I know my wife and my checkbook say no, but this car does "it" for me. It makes my my Fahrvergnügen move.
Anyone else?

its an ok car, if someone gave me one I would take it, but don't think I would ever go buy one, assuming I could afford it

Yea, I could probably afford a print of this car. Even if I had the $$ I would never buy one new. That just crosses the line with me. But it does look teh secksy. :Sexy::Sexy::yesnod:

I did the same thing. I could have afforded a used one (by stretching some things) but decided to take the more financially responsible route and got the C5Z. I WILL have either a GT2 or a GT3 someday, depending on how much I win in the lottery.

Although if we are stretching what we can afford in terms of P cars, I am going for this (in silver please)...

I bought mine used (996 turbo, not a GT3)--no freaking way I'd take that depreciation hit. My used turbo cost about as much as a new Z06...with most of the depreciation already gone
My life will end plenty satisfied without ever having owned a Porsche.

:iagree: Never felt the need for one. But I do like the looks of them. Raced in a couple. Was not all that impressed. Not worth the $$$$$$$ IMHO. :bilmem:

I'd shove most* of you in front of a bus for that car.

I may different here, but they do nothing for me. Drove a new 930 Turbo on a 45 mile run way back when, I could never get comfortable in the car.

Porsche never did a lot for me styling wise. But that's just me, and I'm hung like a horse, so,,,,,

Passed a shitload of those at Watkins Glen. Seems that either non driving mofos buy them or they really aren't all that.

See that is one issue. WIth the exception of the $150k + models, none re as fast as my C6Z.
I just like the looks of them. Call it a flaw or sickness. Now that DS Vettes is doing P car parts, you can have the best of both worlds.
In my mind a 911S with the PDK and the upgraded "proper flappy paddle gear box" would be perfect. :yesnod:
One thing I like about Porsche is that they ENCOURAGE you to put the car on the track and are much more friendly than GM when it comes to killing warranties for track failures.
The local dealer here will give you 5 free track days and 2 days instruction @ Texas World Speedway in College station with the purchase of a CPO or new model.

The local dealer has a white GT2RS down here, "lightly loved" with 13 miles. for $289k.

For that kind of scratch I could build a true GT2 car that would mop the floor with that one. :slap:

I don't understand the difference between the GT2RS and the GT3RS other than the 2 has turbo's....I think.
It is # 327 /500.

I've been able to catch/pass quite a few GT3s, even in the C4. I'm thinking it might be a little of both, but it doesn't change the fact that I think this:

Is a great looking car...
I would have to have a whole lot of money to pretty much give away to ever get one.

They did a piss poor job of retro styling to the old Brit sports cars with the single HUGE round headlights....which always looked stupid IMO, kinda like sharks with the headlights up.....

Ummmmm... are you saying that Porsche designers were going for a British retro look? :skep:
I'm going out on a limb in saying that maybe, just maybe, rather than looking towards British sports cars they were inspired by the 911 models of the last 50+ years which have had that same basic look.

Shouldn't be any same there at all.
Just curious, what does one of these cost? and what does a new Vette Cost?
