A couple of hours ago I ordered more bathroom stuff, this time from Home Depot. The cheapest item was a $5 replacement bathtub diverter to replace one that is leaking. HD offered same-day delivery for free and the part just arrived barely 3 hours later.

Oh, and unlike UPS, HD texted me with a phone number that I can use to contact the driver directly if there is anything wrong with the order.

Out-****ing-standing!!!

If it's in the store, yup, quick delivery
I've purchased several items that were not in the store and had to be delivered from a warehouse. They've never met the projected on site date when you place your order.

I'm sure they only offer same-day delivery if it's in stock at the local store. :yesnod:

I ordered a step ladder from them yesterday. It showed up before I got home from work.

Do you need one to get in your pick-up like LATB?

You expect me to remember a thread from 2 months ago?

BTW, it appears they have dropped the $2.99 delivery fee. And still no prompt to tip the driver.

Not impressed, not only were my 5 top-of-the-line Husky Steel Garage Cabinets delivered expediently and free, there was no cost for the merchandise.

Of course I tipped the delivery doods $100.

Right, because he knew in advance how much I would tip. With precognitive abilities like that, he could be richer than Elon Musk, but he drives a UPS truck because he loves doing it.

I am thinking that fee was due to the heavy weight :yesnod:

Also, when you log in to your Home Depot account to check the status of your order, it lists each item along with its tracking number and shipping status. The only downside is when they aren't using gig worker delivery services they ship via UPS. :willy:
