Yep, 38 years, 34 marriage + 4 yrs dating--she mostly paid for meals, this past Monday was the anniversary.

3 daughters, 4.5 dogs, 2 Vettes, 2 CTS-Vs, 1,200 bottles of scotch, 400 bottles of bourbon, etc... lots of milestones!!

I took her to dinner last Friday, a mexican joint she wanted to try, I paid, but had her pay for parking.

Not sure how much longer it will last, as she said I am 'high' maintenance, not sure what that means.

I am thankful, as made the right choice, until I didn't.

We ate at home on Monday to celebrate, she made my favorite:
homemade tortillas
quality slowed cooked shredded beef with her seasoning
onions and diced tomatoes and cilantro
her homemade, from scratch, medium spice sauce

She made TONS, had about 20 left over after meal, will enjoy for a few nights this week.

Yeah, I got her flowers and fancy water at publix on my way home from the office,,, spoiling her rotten!!

Marriages don’t last this long just on love. Marriages grow this long only because you and your wife share the same opinions about the institution of what exactly marriage means.

Congratulations very few make it. You should be proud, even though you’re a rookie!:seasix:

I am a rookie, in the sense that I have yet to figure out how she processes and decides on things.

My only marriage advice to men is that your logical decision-making behavior will not be the same as your wife's soft-hearted, more forgiving, all-caring character.
In much MOAR lesser words, 'do not expect her to think like you'.

Congratulations to both of you. but why did you ruin it for us by giving her "fancy water" ! If our wives see this we will have to get some now :funnier:

Not going to take away from you by saying how long it is for us but I will say...many many more :seasix:

People need to learn what is important to a woman. They are detail oriented. Getting this down will certainly avoid conflict.

Things you find seemly stupid, waste of time, why and more along this line are very important to a woman.

Mine loves to read, rip out recipes from magazines, throw them all on the floor on her side of the bed and God forbid I do anything about it. I've learned.

Sometimes the dog will look at me and ask "wtf is mama doing?" I just reply "Beats me."

Many things that would be a waste of my time are important to her in a rainman sort of way. So I leave it alone. 31 years now

Congrats on your anniversary!
I am probably the only one who thinks marriage licenses should need to renewed every 5 years.
Just saying name another license that you do not renew.....:D
5 is a random numbers but it keeps her on her toes~!

A long time ago I said they should be like a lease, so if you don't renew at the end of the lease you can trade in on a newer model :yesnod:

Congratulations on 38 years. Many these days don’t seem to make it that far.

We’re coming up on 55. I married Mrs. Stevedore when she was 20. On our 20th anniversary I asked her father if he wanted her back for the next 20. He declined, so here we are.

We get along great though; she always lets me have her own way.

Truth be told, for which I 'sometimes' post humor over truth, the wifey is DAMN good to me.

She keeps the cleanest house I have ever seen, and does the same for our yard, she always keeps busy, and tackles all flooring, painting, molding, etc... projects.

She is an RN for 36 yrs, a true asset as I age and have to deal with health concerns, like that damn garage door slamming into my noggin.

I am truly blessed, and as I age I realize it is by far the best decision I have ever made,,, Ringo is a close second, Dolly Dolly is moving up daily.

An EXTRA BONUS is the past decade she has dove deep into politics, is a HUGE TRUMP fan, and states daily that all democrats needs to locked away for treason and theft.
She could easily hold her ground with any libturd.

Life is very, very good,,, and I am most MOAR thankful.

I will have been married 50 years this October, wife keeps asking me to take her off probation.

I'm thinking about it, she may just work out...
