Nothing very inspiring there, but a few short years earlier the Buick Grand National was the ultimate sleeper.... Grocery getter appearance, smokin' performance.

90's was a great time for sleeper cars. The beginning of the HP wars between manufacturers. Cut my teeth with Mustangs. Had a 95 Mustang GT with a built 347 stroker and 150 shot of N20. Once I got traction, I surprised MANY a Viper/Porsche/Lambo owner.

Nope, not included. I had a 1994 5-speed SHO. It was actually a pretty fun car.
My 89 Ford Probe GT Turbo would beat a Camaro or Mustang from the day - nobody saw it coming!

I don't recall this car, but 34 years ago, it would have been a boring sleeper.
1991 Dodge Spirit RT the Dodge Spirit RT was one of the fastest American sedans of the early 90s and at the same time one of the most forgotten at first glance it looked like just another boxy uninspiring sedan but the moment you stepped on the gas it became clear that this was a True Performance Machine in Disguise powered by a 2.2 L turbocharged engine the spirit RT produced 224 horsepower an impressive figure for a sedan of its time paired with a 5-speed manual transmission it could rocket from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.8 seconds
Compare that to the C4 coupe then, 0-60 MPH: 5.3 Seconds

I had a 91 it had 255HP a shitload of torque and 4.11 rear end. A 4spd trans Vs the 3spd the older truck came with. You could have a lot of fun with it on the street. Kept it nice and well modded it and won my share of shows, took second place at trucks at Carlisle in about a 40 truck field!

I have the GLH-S version of that in the collection still. Back in the day we used to kill Mustangs with it. All it took was a little bleed on the boost reg line and it would out-accelerate any 5.0 with Flowmasters (they allll had it)

Yea, they really choked it down. .5HP for cubic inch was really sad. Easy enuff to open up. Heads, cam were easy to do. Converted mine to true dual 3" exhaust.
I paid $10k for it in the mid 90's when no one wanted them.

You thought the 90's were bad how about the 70's? Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, Mustangs, etc were a joke.
The 1990 Ferrari Testarossa has a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds and a quarter mile time of 14.6 seconds at 111 mph.
The price of a 1990 Ferrari Testarossa increased significantly during its production to nearly $150,000 by 1990.
Cars in the 30k's today can do those times.
