Ha, this is timely. I have some pics I can post tomorrow that will blow your mind...unintended pun.

You'd be amazed at what can be bought on line...legally.

All you need is some pipe and end caps, fuse, and black powder. Although I don’t think black powder is considered a high explosive. 🧨

I was a nuclear weapons security guard, ie deterrent for bad guys, when we offloaded some warheads prior to a launch from an SSBN. I was about 50 feet from them

I've eaten at Taco Bell multiple times. Does 2-3 burrito supremes, and their aftermath, count as experience with high explosives?

Right up there with colonoscopy prep, so yes, both items should be regulated..

Yes, back in the late 1960s when I was a union laborer. My boss assigned me to work with a blasting company that was working for us on the road job we were doing.

I was basically a liaison between the blasters and my employer but I did do a lot of distributing and before and after work for the blasting crew ( that was 2 people and me)

Did it for a couple weeks, no great things happened to tell for at that time 22YO kid!

Never worked at a facility long term as an emplyee, but, I sold FM approved equipment and did the installations at some very dangerous factories and concrete bunkers.

TRW when they were manufacturing the Sodium Azide pellets for air bags, Morton Thiokol, Yuma Proving Grounds.

For sure, I think it'd be cool as all-get-out to blow shit up for a living. Demolition, rocks, whatever. Blowing stuff up is fun.

I have a crazy neighbor that is, thankfully, separated by a few other properties. He has the "blowing up" property. These guys are nuts. They've buried 5 gallon containers of gas and lit a fuse to it. Want to see a crater? Hellyea!

No, I prefer my explosives not to be high. They are dangerous enough the way they are.

What's the best way to blow shit up? Like, if I have an abandoned car and I want to recreate some scenes from the mafia movies.

I was blown-up by an IED in Kuwait in 1991 and after retiring from the Air Force, I did a lot of work with military and civilian EOD techs. I co-instructed HME (homemade explosives) courses for EOD techs, and taught how to make homemade explosives, including but not limited to: Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP - The mother of Satan), HMTD (Hexamethylene triperoxide diamine), PETN (pentaerythritol tetranitrate), and ETN (erythritol tetranitrate). TATP was my favorite, as is easy to make but VERY volatile. Hence why it's known as the Mother of Satan.

You can do it with tannerite, but it will take a lot of it to destroy a car. I could easily do it with TATP or HMTD, but that shit is HIGHLY illegal.

The bags we bought are not high explosives but we do have TNT, RDX, PETN, along with ANFO ingredients in our lab. Our EOD expert has some great stories of his time on a bomb squad.

I had a take-away from his talk that can be very dangerous. I saw a video of a guy blast himself and pepper his skin with burning particles.

Bundle sparklers together with a hose clamp or zip tie. Jam one in the center similar to a fuse leaving a good portion sticking out. Light the center one and RUN !!!

Do NOT...NOT .... NOT build a big bundle or you will do a shit-ton of damage and probably kill someone or yourself.

Tannerite and high-speed projectiles is too much work.

Need to set it and forget it and RUN!

I had a friend that was one of the backpack nuke guys the Army had patrolling the Fulda gap. Supposedly if you ran fast enough, you could outrun the blast before it triggered.

Supposedly.

Gracias! I know your EOD expert and have worked with him several times. The stuff you guys make to keep others safe is awesome! Ohbyeah, I forgot about ANFO (Ammonium nitrate Fuel oil). That stuff is SUPER easy to make! 94% prilled ammonium nitrate (fertilizer) and 6% number 2 fuel oil (diesel). Ka-boom!! I like the sparkler idea!

I can send you the process for making TATP or HMTD but it most likely kill you before you get a chance to use it on a car. Or, I can go to you and make it for you, but it will still most likely kill you.

Jake is a friend of mine.

So many ways. How much destruction do you want? Total annihilation, like nothing exists anymore? Or just gas tank explosion? Giant fireball, or no fireball? Legally (without permits), or do you have explosive handling permits?

Anybody who's had a wife or gf with PMS.....

The closest I came was trying to start a fire when I was in my early twenties.

I poured some white gas on some logs and kindling, whist I was camping, to start a fire.

Did not get what I expected the previous times using charcoal lighter fluid.

Now I could light a fire (a gentle one) with the contents of my wallet ( not my purse, my wallet).
