- The birth certificate issue was a good way of concealing race around a legitimate claim that the premier was not born in the U.S. The claim is now all is well, but it got great grounding in his brown skin. Also great grounding in his politically in-correct approach to politics.

- Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson have made thier living pushing some issues of what they want to charactrize as racial intolerance into the only salaried position they have now, or have ever had.......
Common sense dictates that legit issues are getting scrapped. It is also fair to say that all has not always been well, and memories are short. Memory loss based on past voting rights acts, and the inability to deal effectively with some issues during "reconstruction" years ago in the south.

Good post. I'm not going to say that having a non white President takes some getting used to-but my problem with him comes from: He's from Chicago Ill. One of the most corrupt states in the US. I don't know what to say Lars, I really don't. I am a visible minority yet I've never felt that I was ever at a disadvantage because of it, but that may be because I live in Canada, if I was raised in the United States maybe things would've been different. I also don't have many black friends, I know a lot but I never hung out with them and maybe that's why I am where I'm at in life, I own a bunch of nice cars, live in a nice house, have a beautiful gf/future wife, have money in the bank, etc.

Twenty years later, he still heads a thriving automotive detailing shop that's expanded into lawn care and owns a fabulous, five-bedroom home and a 1984 Porsche 928S in the East End of town!

My father-in-law (another Black man) never finished high school and grew up
in the segregated South, yet he owns his own contracting and construction
company.

He's landed major projects all over southern and northern Georgia and put
four children through college (including my wife) so they could have a
better life.

All of us have endured trials, tribulations and unfair treatment in our
lives. But you can't let the mistakes and missteps of history define who you
are. Learn from them, yes. But grow. Stop mourning over Moses and move on.
Just move on.

Every time we as African-Americans dishonor the hopes and the dreams of the
slaves, people who bled, cried, toiled and died so that we might be able to
come on up to a level of respect, decency and affluence befitting any human
being, it's like collectively spitting in their face.

Stop buggin' and beggin. All anyone "owes" you in this world is an
opportunity, and I'll go to my grave defending that right for anybody. The
rest is up to you.
