Baby Droll had some bidness to conduct downtown, so we hopped on the Metrolink up to LAUPT and then hopped the Purple/D line subway over to Pershing Square. Conveniently you can ride the Metro for free with your Metrolink ticket. It was fun to pass over jammed freeways in a train going 71 MPH. :fastguy:

There were quite a few homeless hanging around the downtown area, but there were even more cops and other security personnel to keep them at bay. The library had guards posted at the entrances to keep the homeless out; the waiting area at Union Station has a guard who checks your ticket before you can sit down in the comfy leather chairs and there is a 2-hour limit. There were teams of 4 security guards on the Metro platforms. No National Guard troops like they have in the NYC subways though. :D
