He was using my back yard as his personal Possum Kingdom. If you look carefully in the picture, you'll see a wire animal trap to the left of Mr. Awesome. That's where we found him this morning. :D
He's now relocated to a place where he can frolic without humans and cats around.

Here's a video of the possum in action. Well, action isn't really the best word for it. Our possum is sick or something.

:iagree: Any time you see a 'possum or a 'coon during the daytime, something's wrong.

He was definitely sick or diseased or something. Lately my father-in-law has been trying to trap a ground hog that has been tearing up his tomato plants. So far he has trapped two possums and two raccoons, but no ground hog as of yet. We borrowed his trap to get rid of our disease-riddled possum. The FIL came by this morning to collect his trap loaded with possum. He's been releasing them in a rural area near a creek so they are probably all having quite a party now.

Have a friend that he and his wife feed a troop of racoons every morining.
They come out of the woods into the back yard and one comes right up to them. Not afraid at all. I have told him on multiple occasions he is asking for trouble. any time I see a racoon that is not afraid of people (especially during the day) I get nervous. Already had to go through rabies shots once in my life, not an experience I want to have again:eek:

I agree that raccoons are notorious carrier of rabies. But, they simply aren't afraid of people, or as one member so eloquently put it, "they'll open the back door to your house, raid your refrigerator, and watch a movie before you get home."
The reason they aren't afraid of people is that fighting one is like fighting something with 100 razor blades in each paw.

Thats what I told my friend. Those things will associate the inside of your house with where the food comes from and will eventually figure out how to get inside. He said his dogs would take care of them. I just laughed and told him any self respecting racoon could take on all three of his dogs at once since two out of the three are just little ankle biters that are smaller than an adult racoon. I offered him my .22 Win Mag and he said no.
