Most Canadians I know, and have drank with, are very similiar to Americans, they like their car and their sports.

The problem with Canada is their shit pols, and their shit government / taxes.

I could never live there, but would visit again, as had many great times there.

Used to drive from Kootenai county ID 3hrs north to Rossland BC to ski Red Mountain. 2 days lift tickets and 2 nights hotel (including breakfast) was $99 USD. It was a smokin' deal considering how long some of the uncrowded runs were. The fuel was expensive, and local food sucked for the most part. BC is a beautiful area of the country.

We had dinner the other night at a great place in Montreal, Gibbys.

Bill was about $290 Canadian, and $45 in taxes. FOURTY FIVE DOLLARS. The waiter goes but we have services.

In Ontario at least, the gov controls liquor, beer and wine. The LCBO was going to go on strike and the government has special ads running on TV and radio saying "Stock up now for the weekend in case of strike"

The same people who employee the LCBO are pushing you to buy booze in case they go on strike.

They get you hooked on it, sell it to you, tax it for you, and then try to sell you more.

Tim Horton's is a cult in Canada. We had to stop to go to the bathroom yesterday. We found a Tim Hortons in the middle of literally no where. No houses, a few farms, 2 miles off the freeway, not a car in sight.

Pull in, 30+ cars in the parking lot. Where the hell did they come from?

Sugarless drinks are hard to find. I am not a fan of it but Pure Leaf ice tea, you go and they have every version with sugar, none without.

The Canadian government sells you a good time, taxes you on it, and then gives a substandard level of service and tells you that you should be lucky for it, and the people believe it and buy into it.
