He was the Dad on Good Times, and maybe most famously, the owner of "McDowell's" in Coming to America.

I liked that guy. He was so funny as the gay couple in some 2 1/2 men sitcom....

They've been on their way out the last 10 years

He was also a warrior king in a Beastmaster movie IIRC.

I'll always remember his fatherly advice to JJ on a Good Times episode when some gangster thug showed up looking for JJ. Paraphrasing, "This is your home son, you don't 'cut and run' from NOBODY up in here"...

I heard a report he actually died back in August

The first batch of baby boomers are on their way out

Prob because life was tougher for them...back before you could earn a ton of money being a "social media influencer" or sit on your ass as some DEI "coordinator" or work remotely sitting on your keyster, or "make bank" suing your boss because he wouldn't use your pronouns.

When I was a teenager there wasn't any food stamps and unemployment was two weeks, if you needed help it was family, the church or the Salvation Army....and there was the draft hanging over your head. There basically weren't any college loans for 90% of folks either and even if you got one, the gov't wasn't bailing you out.

Most of the boomers I know are glad they are older and won't be around for the future the Millenials and Gen-Xers are fostering.

Maffs be powerful hard for you boss. The oldest baby boomers are turning 78 this year. The recent passing of John Amos, John Ashton, Pete Rose, and James Earl Jones were all in their 80s, so NOT baby boomers. Frank Fritz was 60, the only recent celebrity death who was a baby boomer.

Maybe you should head back to the shallow end of the pool. You're embarrassing yourself.

Gee, I was off by a couple years, same basic generation area. Get over it

You weren't off by "a couple of years". Kris Kristoferson was a decade older than the oldest boomer. The others were at least a half a decade older. Since a "generation" is about 15 years, no, they were NOT the "same basic generation".

You were talking out of your ass, and now you are doubling down on it. That's on you, there is no reason for me to "get over it". You constantly outwardly post how stupid you are, carry on if you want, I'll continue to laugh at your idiocy. :yesnod:

Frankly, you're confusing me with someone else who gives a shit over minor semantics, Get a life! You're like having a conversation with a doorknob.
