Actually a rough few months, too. Had some AFIB occurances beginning in April. Had CTs, xrays, barium and treadmill tests and wore a heart monitor for a month. Awaiting results on that.
Aug 20th I went to the ER because I was passing blood. Not a little, but looking like fruit punch. CT and culture tests show kidney infection. I told them I wasn't surprised because I knew that there was a stone in the left side. I was told it looked clear so must have passed it. Pain pills and antibiotics and sent home. Appeared to get better.
Sunday Sep 9 I started making fruit punch again. Back to ER. CT and ultrasound performed. This time I am told I have a 7mm and two smaller ones in the left side along with two small in the right side. I asked why no one saw these before and was told they were lodged high up and didn't show in the scan. So, surgery scheduled for Monday.
Last time (2014) I had the sonic waves used. Nine days of passing pieces. This time I chose the laser method. Monday and Tuesday went pretty good. Wednesday started passing more blood and clots. Tried going to work Thursday but left at two. Began running a102 plus fever so back to I ER Thursday about seven. Still here. Fever down, pain tolerable but still lot of blood and clots.
On a side note, it sure has been quiet and peaceful.

Kidney stone suck I don't envy you one bit.
May you get relief soon. :yesnod:

As a side note... When I had a CT at ER to check for blockages last year nobody mentioned the 2 stones in left kidney until I read the report a month later.

Friend of mine gets them at least once a month :willy:

I passed several stones a few years ago. Most agonizing pain one can imagine. It took a few trips to the ER, but they weren't big enough for litho or laser. I was discharged to pass them on my own. One week of virtually no sleep. I've spoken to several women who have passed stones. They all agree that they would gladly suffer child birth than pass another kidney stone as kidney stones are FAR more painful. Hopefully you will be pain free soon.

Never had one but nursed the wife through one and "Personality Number 4" came out, the bad one, Number 1 is hard enough to deal with.

I had kidney stone surgery 2 years a go. Good surgeon, all
went well. Big stone , the surgeon told/ask me that I must of been in
tremendous pain. Well yea..
Good luck on your recovery. Drink more water or fluids.

Well, that may depend on what mineral type you've been gifted with. Some are smoother and some are rougher.

For the AFib, get a newer iWatch. Really.

I started monitoring after my single AFib event in June. It works, and gives you a damn report at the end of the week. It will alert you if your heart looks wonky.

Feel better soon! Kidney stones are God-awful :ack: I’ll never forget the day (Sept 20, 2009!) that I had mine…vomiting/nausea and pain was a 15 on a scale of 0-10 :Jeff '79:

Initially couldn’t go to the bathroom either, everything was pretty blocked…but then when I did it was like pissing razor blades. The IV pain meds in the ER were the best, but since they were too small for intervention (lodged halfway in ureter), they d/c’d me to pass them at home.

I captured them in a screen/filter and sent them off to a lab to analyze…mine are uric acid-based. Tart cherry juice is my friend…and I make sure to drink plenty of water daily. So far, so good…but have to stay vigilant as this type of kidney stone runs in my family.

Suggest capturing and sending them to a lab so you know what they are made of, and adjust accordingly…there are 4 types of stones (calcium oxalate, uric acid, struvite, and cystine). Good luck :seasix:

Discharged today. Still passing small pieces. Painful, but not unbearable.

When I was in the ER, I was told by a female ER Dr and her nurse (female) who both had kids and kidney stones that it can be worse than delivery pain.

There is nothing like it but it can be mild or like me and some of you guys it was in fkn sane.

My first one was 20 years ago. Got up around 6am, made something to eat and sat down to watch the news. I started moving a bit, thought I pulled a muscle, walking around.

Wife was asking what's going on? Pain seemed to be all around from my back to front chest area and then I went to the floor clutching my chest and back area.

My wife called 911, I could hear her saying I was having a heart attack. By 7:30am I was in the ER. So, upon my arrival, they gave me some morphine so I could do a scan and there it was! A beautiful baby stone :D

I finally passed it the following morning. You usually piss into a funnel until it pops out. I was exhausted.

I had some large ones a few years ago, they took out surgically which I was fine with. Knock me out an wake up when its over. :seasix:

Hopefully all your issues are almost over then. Knock on wood, I’ve never had one and hope to keep it that way
