Ha! My best friend as a teen had one, green green. First car I drove over 125 mph!

Days later a local trash truck T boned my buddy and totaled it.

Yes as the video sites this car was an original 318 engine car. The largest available engine for a 1968 Coronet 500 was a 383. To get a 440 you had to step up to an R/T model which is essentially a Coronet 500 with a larger engine, suspension and brakes. They were the highest trim level Coronets made with the bucket seat interior standard.
I have had MANY Mopar BBs of the 60s including a pretty loaded triple black 68 Coronet R/T with factory A/C and power windows. These R/Ts came standard with a 440 Magnum 375 h.p engine. The only engine option was a Hemi. I also had a loaded 1968 Charger R/T with a Hemi and all options available with that engine.

I heard two big10 schools, not the new ones in, were offering them both cheerleading scholarships.

My first car was an Olds Cutlass with a 350 Rocket, weak as crap, only 170hp, my moped was faster.

My '66 Coronet was originally a 383 4 speed posi car, but when I got it, a '69 440 Magnum was under the hood. A very nice driving car that handled really well. Cheesy interior and everything else compared to the GTO's, but nice powertrain. I struggled to get $3000 for it in 1996. It was a zero rust, original paint, 63,000 mile car. 107828

Six Pack Super Bee? I had one of those also. They were built by the factory to be STREET RACERS the factory kind of laughted at the sanctioned drag racing entities when they asked for specs so they could classify them. They told them they didn’t built them with that in mind and never provided anything.:leaving:

I had a 1966 BASE Coronet 2 dr sedan with Hemi and 4 speed. In that body they only made 11 cars with the 4 speed. The car was bought to be a race car no other options no radio, other than what came standard on the Hemi as inHD brakes, suspension and a Hemi 4 speed. The car had no chrome and a rubber floor mat rather than carpet.

THAT is Badass. I have never even driven a real Hemi car of that era. Bucket list item, along with driving a Duesenberg SSJ.
