My dad used to do this when we were kids. I did it today with my steak.
Works in lump coal or briquettes. But if you use briquettes than your on your own. :D

1 yellow onion
1 piece aluminum foil
hot lump coal or a fire

DO NOT take the skin off the onion, cut one end off and wrap it in the tin foil a couple layers thick.
Nice and tight and twist the ends.

Throw it in the coals for 15 minutes.
Remove from coals.
Open and press down on the uncut side.

Enjoy the greatest onion of your life.

Sounds good Mike, next time I'm having a bonfire at the cottage I'm going to try that is the woodcoals. I can't eat smores anysmores! :thumbs:
