I went to Grammar (high) school with Johnny McVie, his original bassplayer, who went on to big things with Fleetwood Mac. He was already well into playing before he joined John Mayall.

I'm nearing the end of his autobiography "Life" which was a Christmas present a few years back. Full of good stuff, all the way back to the Brian Jones years. The hardback inside covers are photos of his LP shelf, showing just the edges with the titles. Mostly early American blues and rock, plus a little jazz, a Hank Williams plus "Highway 61".....

Incredible life he's lived, now recovering in a quiet part of Connecticut.:D

Next door neighbor came back from assignment in Tokyo with a new Sansui ass kickin’ stereo. He blew me away when he cracked up Room to Move by John Mayall. I had to have the LP.
