So you can see for yourself, exactly how big of an idiot you are, as you walk up to your new truck.

How much further can our culture of ugliness and grossness go? Every time I see "ugliest thing I've seen" something uglier just has to show up. And usually with someone drooling over it.

I was actually thinking in having a chrome wrap installed on my Model X Plaid but it just draws too much attention.. I'm a big fan of polished stainless. My last '68 Vette had polished stainless side pipes and they looked awesome.

As far as the Cybertruck is concerned, there is about a 20% chance that I'll go through with the purchase and an 80% chance that I will cancel my reservation. Lack of a 500 mile version is a huge turn off for me.

I think all Americans should be limited to ONE ev purchase in their lifetimes, as I cannot afford multiple tax credits to an individual!!

I didn't get a tax credit on both of my Teslas.

Anyways, at this point, there isn't any particular vehicle that I would want. Happy with what I have right now. Waiting for new battery innovations and more range on my next EV which may be a couple of years away.

I wonder if the ERay will have an aftermarket, as I may not buy my C8Z on order due to I cannot justify vs. Blackwing price, third pedal is also an issue.
I would like to see if the ERay has a huge upside once the aftermarket has a few years playing with it.

Very few options with 3rd pedal out there. It's starting to completely go away. Really sucks. For gas cars, I always preferred stick.

It's no loss with the c8 since it's basically a a gas cousin to the cybertruck. Big and bulky. There are plenty of great cars still offering a manual like the 911, cayman, ct5v blackwing, etc. Even some of the top hypercars like the t50 and utopia.

If I came home with a Porsche my doggies would kick my arse.

With that said, I always liked 911s, and also like this one, which has no third pedal, or engine,,, neighbor just got one, SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET:

Most of my Vettes were 4 speed or 6-speed. I even had a 6 speed Hyundai Elantra. Unfortunately, for EV's, no gears and therefore no stick shift available..

Right now, you can still get them but it won't be long until the last stick shift cars will go away. With all the new tech, the auto cars are actually quicker. I remember back in the day when the 6-speed cars were always quicker with a good driver than auto. However, this is becoming a thing of the past as today's auto or dual clutch transmissions are quicker than the best driver in a stick car.

My first manual was a hand-me-down beat up Honda Civic, drove in college, died one day, spurted more oil than it burned. Drove last 18 months without a clutch.

Got married and took over wifey's Hyundai Excel manual, ran into the ground. Dealer gave me $200 for trade-in.

Then took over wifey's Acura Integra manual, she needed Explorer, as kids started coming. I thought that car was fast, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Then leased a manual VW Passat for three years, was $236/month with $1,100 in. That car lived in its redline!!

Then bought CTS-V Gen 1, $53K, my first and only new car purchase for myself, still kicking myself for selling, swapped LS1 383 forget, Maggie, 520/575 dyno, rolling 3rd gear burnouts, beat AMGs and 911s from a roll.

Today I own C6, V2 and C7Z, all manly!!

So, I have driven third pedal exclusively as DD since mid 80s, 40 years, need to keep the streak alive!!

quicker in short stints before the auto overheats, yes. people buy manuals because they have class. autos only make sense if you are disabled or just have no will to live.

I agree with the rationale that driving a manual keeps you more engaged on the road.
Autos are faster, but I spend little time at the track or racing on the street.
My time spent driving is much more fun rowing through the gears and down shifting.

Also, aside from Flex's recent woes, I stil think a third pedal is a great theft deterrent.

I owned about 20 cars between 1989 and 1997 when I moved to the US and 18 of those 20 were stick shift. Only auto cars were the Opel Omega and a 1986 Vette Coupe. All the others were 4-speed or 5-speed. Only 4 of 13 Vettes that I owned were automatic. I couldn't pass on the ones that were automatic as I got a really good deal on them. 50 of about 70 cars I owned were stick shift.

Every car I've ever owned has a third pedal.
1973 MGB - 4 speed with electric overdrive
1984 Camaro z-28 - 5 speed
1986 Fiero - 5 speed
1995 Ford Probe V-6 (Wife's hand-me-down) - 5 speed
1996 Ford Ranger - 5 speed
1971 Corvette - 4 speed
2006 Cobalt SS - 5 speed

I have driven autos too but not my choice. Those listed above were all my decision to buy (even the Probe, I talked my wife into the 5-speed:yesnod:).
Had a 1995 Ford Taurus company car for years. I'll drive anything for free especially when they paid for everything, insurance, oil changes, the lot.
My DD right now is a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium. Of course no third pedal but I got a great deal on this car and couldn't refuse. I miss the third pedal but that is why I have the Vette.

I have stopped worrying about how vehicles look a while ago. Not really a consideration when I buy a vehicle. For me, it's function and performance that matters. Value IS a consideration and at $100k, the Cybertruck is overpriced.

If it has 2000 HP, runs 8's in the 1/4 mile and I can get it for $50k, I'll buy it and then have it re-painted or wrapped.
