I just stumbled across WWE on Fox. Are there any old school guys like Macho Man or Hacksaw Duggan still around?
Remember Haystack Calhoun from the 60's?

Of course, him and the Sheik, some [stop with the racial slurs] from Michigan.

Like someone saying, "Who's the champ after Hulk?"
Yes, it's on...and big. Worldwide. Triple H figured it out and the brand is thriving.
You'd need to look for new heroes. Cody Rhodes is the current champ after beating Roman Reigns, even under Bloodline Rules.
There's definitely some old school style, but think Jimmy Superfly Snuka. Much faster than the old days. 280lb dudes that make hulk look like a slug.
Monday night Raw and Friday night Smackdown are the regular offerings. I believe ALL the big 2025 events (Mania, etc.) are in Indy. Should be a fun year.
Wrasslin' is like watching a violent soap opera. All preordained, but still fun to watch these absolute monsters do some crazy shit.
Did you ever go to Cirque du Soleil? No different except the folks are freaking giants fighting. YMMV.

Macho Man be pushing up daisies
He’s still rolling and controlling shit wherever he is. Ooooh Yea!
I watched it in the early 1960s with my older cousin. He thought it was cool, I thought it was dumb so I haven’t watched it since.

Never did.
More of a roller derby kind of guy. Tuned in on a couple of those shows as a kid. Those chicks were brutal.

Saw him in Norfolk wrestling arena in person way back then...he was actually somehow partially crammed in a freakin' PHONE BOOTH making a call (no cell phones back then). 80 % of him was outside the booth that's why I recall it so vividly (I was just a kid). After a match a lot of them would eat dinner at the 24 hour cafeteria Giant Open Air Market grocery store. Saw many more but don't remember them all - one was a giant that wore a Cowboy hat, don't recall the name.
EDIT: I remember the cowboy guy now, Blackjack Mulligan, a damned giant of a man like 6'9" and well over 300 lbs.
Gotta Say ~
Aint of Fan of that Wrastlin' ( Ellie Mae Clampett Twang for emphasis )
Just too contrived and bogus
Maybe on Mud Wrastlin' Night in the Onward and Upward Bar ~

Then based on the Dirty Eye Candy, Live in Person ~ Wrastlin' just might be tolerable :syf:

I remember a guy named "Crusher Verdu" from 60 years ago. Or so I thought, so I looked it up. Sure enough, here's his Wiki. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusher_Verdu) He was born in 1940 so he would have been 20 or so when I saw him on TV.
During one "fight" he pulled a rope out of his trunks and started strangling the other guy with it. At 12-13 years old I thought: "This is really retarded," so I never watched it again.
Does anyone remember John Stossel being physically attacked because he asked one of them about the fake-ness? This was probably around 20 years ago.
We went from: "Don't believe your eyes, we are really wrestling."
To: "Donald Trump is a NAZI and hates America, women, blacks, and kids."

Who needs wrestling when you can go to your local Walmart and watch two morbidly obese black women fighting over the last box of Twinkies?

I just went to a Mexican wrestling event with my dad in Cozumel a few days ago and had a freaking blast. We sat ringside and got to participate in the show, and we had a meet and greet with the cast/crew after the final match.
That being said, I do not keep up with WWE/WWF or whatever is on network TV.

Just remembered Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, saw him too...
IIRC sometime in the late 70's Nature Boy Rick Flair's annual income was $250,000/year and I was gobstopped - all the money in the world back then.
Now with ball players and golfers making 100's of millions with a sweet contract I've lost interest in most sports. Really, all that money for excelling at a game ?

Same here. Watched Roller derby for a while. Wrestling was too fake for me even as a kid so I never watched it. Yes, I know, roller derby was scripted, but at least it had some skating going on.

"That 70s Show" was one of the greatest sitcoms ever produced, along with "All in the Family" and "Seinfeld." These are facts, and are not arguable. https://i.postimg.cc/y60mLtFJ/smiley-bashhead.gif
There was an episode where the "70s" gang went to watch a pro "wrestling" match, and Red went with them. Good story, like most of them.
