I remember seeing Vettes cruising around in the mid-late '50s, thinking they were so cool as a young boy. Someday I had to have one.

The chrome C3s looked as good as anything until they went with rubber bumpers. I lost interest in them, then the C4s came out, which I could barely tell from a Camaro or Firebird from that era. Vettes were always easily distinguishable from any angle, but not C4s.

So I lost interest in Vettes because they were unremarkable. But in 1990 I bought a '72, had it for a few years then sold it -- it looked okay but was a mess mechanically. Was in my 40s then and was losing interest in "fixing things."

C5s came out and they were much better, but the hidden headlight trick was getting long in the tooth -- for me anyway. Then the C6s came out although I didn't pay much attention to them for years, but bought an '07 in 2014.

The C7s are okay and the C8s look great IMO.

The best lookers IMO were chrome C3s, any C6, and any C8.

The retractable roof on C8 is still being weighed by me, I would not buy one, but still not ready to hate them yet.

C4s use to be my punching bag, but the more I see on the road, mot 30 years old, is gaining my respect, not as the best gen, but a great car for the era it was built.

I lowered my C7. Between that and adding the splitter I have to be real careful. No room for stowaways in the wheel wells.

Same here. Early C4’s didn’t age very well….power and drivetrains were meh…. Always liked the restyled LT1/4 c4 from 90-96, and of course the ZR1’s.

As a kid in the 70’s I always loved the 68-72’s the most and dreamed of owning one some day.

To me corvettes are c2 and c3. I jumped on the opportunity for a c4 no ragrets. Maybe I’m biased but I like the earlier angular look and no opti. Things wear out and break. I don’t beat on it. I think I’m actually preserving it for my grandson who has a sudden fascination in vettes. :seasix:

The only body style I do not like is the C5 style...all others are cool in there own way I had a 93 Ruby with 40k miles in 2010 and I had a blast working on it and fixing it a few knuckles gone but still fun...I made a ton of money on Ebay....designed Open Air Box Lid for it and a Seal Tool to replace the water pump seal. Even designed a mercruiser trim pump bracket for boats...after a few years to many people copied the parts and would lower the price to where it was not profitable.

I want one, have yet to pursue it, but would never consider any other vintage / classic car.

They are all excellent cars and an excellent bang for the buck, but leave me cold.

Oh, I agree 100%. These are superb driver's cars. I'm just not into the styling.
