I have no idea what these things are, and have never been curious enough to look it up.
But yesterday I drove by one and there were a bunch of possibly adult males (maybe?) standing in front of the place. About 50% were wearing masks, 50% were wearing what looked like pajamas, and 50% had man buns. Quite a bit of overlap between those groups. :willy:
The light turned green and I got out of there ASAP. Pretty sure I'm not missing anything useful there.

God forbid the little twerps go out and play baseball, or tennis or hoop or ride a bike or go fishing. I’ll bet the majority of them have never played sports or participated in outdoor activities in their worthless worm-like lives. Nothing but phones, console games, TV or computers for them.
They've been around for a while in the other 49 states where everything isn't illegal.
Never done one, and never will.
Murder mystery nights, though, are pretty cool. Last time I did one I "caught" the "perp", and she was at our table. She was a good actress. It was a hoot.
Once the shotgun makes it's appearance, it's the perp that needs the escape room.

Me and coworkers did one as a corporate event. It was enjoyable. We had the 4th fastest time.

Probably an outlet for all that confidence people get when watching horror movies and thinking that they're way smarter than the actors doing dumb things. Also a bit of how everyone who watches csi thinks they'd be great at csi because they think they're observant or clever.

Wifey and three daughters wanted do it, so I went.
Was challenging, we had 30 minutes, finished it in about 20 minutes, daughters argued for days who found the most clues.
Would not do again, as was $150, no drinks or refreshments were offered.

Suggestion. If you choose to try one, do not eat at Taco Bell beforehand

Why? It seems like that might add some excitement. :yesnod:

Certainly a higher level of motivation to escape.

Certainly a higher level of motivation to escape.
Counteracted by reduced cognitive abilities as a result of cerebral hypoxia.
