"The usual suspects". Oh, and PETA, Green Peace, the NAACP, Big Oil and any and all lobbyists. At least......
~shut down KeystoneXL ppl day one
~stop new on and offshore leasing for oil drilling
~drain SPR
~villify oil and gas companies
~surprised Pikachu face when the price of energy, and thus, the cost of EVERYTHING goes up
~blame Trump for all of it
I think it all depends on Israel's reaction to the Irani's attack.
If Israel retaliates the Irani's will continue and price goes up.
If Israel holds back and Iran stops due to the attack being futile, gas will drop.
And FJB.

Add in conflict in the Middle East (or not) and it’s a great excuse to raise the price of gas. Of course there is always the fall back excuses of “the sun is coming up”, “the sun is going down”, and last but not least, “summer blend”.
"The usual suspects". Oh, and PETA, Green Peace, the NAACP, Big Oil and any and all lobbyists. At least......
If "Big Oil" can raise prices arbitrarily, why didn't they keep them at $5 as they were a couple years ago?
When they were around $4.30 here in 2008, within a couple months they plunged to under $2 per gallon. Why didn't Big Oil keep them at $4.30?
It's the government, as usual, interfering and distorting the free market. It's what they do.

At least partially because the pain at the pump caused people to cut back on usage. And "Uncle Sugar" reigning things in, of course! Re-election over all else.

I must say that gas is a lot less expensive in other states than Maryland.
So there is that.

Hope that gas prices stay high until election day. Most people will blame whoever is in power (regardless if it's justified or unjustified blame) and hopefully, it will help Trump to get elected.
Hopefully, the prices will drop after that.

I love, really love, how liberal dolts claim inflation is "global" and Biden didn't do anything to accelerate it and in the same breath, claim the US is producing more barrels of oil than at any point in history (true) but then say the Middle East conflict is driving up oil (gas) prices. So nice when you can have things both ways.

MUCH DEEPER MATH
USA consumes 20.0M barrels/day https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=33&t=6#:~:text=EIA%20uses%20product%20supplied%20to,7.3%20billion%20barrels%20of%20petroleum.
USA imports 8.5M barrels/day X 365 = 3.1B barrels/year
Crude trading at $85/per, thus $265B/year leaves US economy for foreign crude purchases
I think it all depends on Israel's reaction to the Irani's attack.

I do too. I can't imaging Trump being allowed to be president again. The Dems will take him out legally or physically. He is too much of a threat to over 100 years of corruption they've built.
Just heard on the radio a spokeswomen for the Energy Commision stated that the Biden Administration was responsible for the lowering of the price of a gallon of gas compared to this time last year. So I googled it. Lies. (I thought so) Actually, a gallon of gas costs MORE than it did April 2023. Just like everything ELSE I buy. Funny how 6 to 8% inflation has doubled the cost of everything I need to buy. I guess in lib-speak, 8%=100%.

My summer electric bill is about $550-$650 per month with the AC set to 80.
In the winter, my heat is set to 66 and the gas is $245-$400 per month. My power bill is my biggest monthly expense, followed by food, which has doubled since 2020.

In the summer it will keep the humidity down and eliminate any potential mold or other problems.
In winter it will keep any freeze issues from being a problem.
No finished building should be left unconditioned for any length of time.

Did Kali already increase the registration fees for all vehicles, and even higher for EVs.
As if they are pushing for no ICE, that gas tax revenue goes away, and they need it based on having a $73B deficit.

Someone in California is making a couple extra bucks per gallon off of yawl.
Doesn’t Cali do this favor for all its citizens for everything?
Last week, I paid $ 3.13 for regular, cash price, at the Chevron down the street. Diesel is generally about $ 3.50 up to maybe $ 3.80 or $ 3.90. I have seen it over $ 4 here and there, but those are outliers, in some cases, truck stops where they know they have a captive market.

Bocephus, aka Hank Williams Jr.
'Tired of being Johnny B Good', release date 1979
Lyrics, First Verse
I don't like instant ice tea
And I ain't crazy about dollar a gallon self-service gasoline
They nearly broke me with the high price of beef
And the funny thing is they think they're putting this over on me
$1 in 1979 is equal to $4.30 today in buying power. Nothing has changed.
Same old made-up bullshit, we sold out to China 50 years ago, lost our ability to manufacture our own stuff, have voted in crooks to shut down our own clean oil production so we could buy dirty oil from our enemies at huge price increases, and on and on. I blame it ALL on DEMOCRATS.

Well stated!!
$4.00/gallon is minimal, as will go to $8.00/gallon if fjb steals the election again.

Lots of R's to blame. Speaking of, how's SotH Johnson doing right now? He just sold out America to borrow money we don't have to send to the Ukraine, Israel, and, in a lesser ammount, Taiwan.
Nothing for you, though. Sucker.

The Republicans are so lame and mis-guided that I'm almost afraid to admit I am one. If I could be independent and vote for a Republican candidate in my state, I would. But that isn't available where I am. If you are non partisan, all you get is a D or L ballot.
The Republicans are under the misguided notion that Democrats will play fair sooner or later, and that they need to just placate them and play nice.
WRONG. The Republicans only chance is to get down into the mud pit and take on those dirty, insidious, evil ****ing monsters at their own level.
Which is what is going to happen on a civic level if there is a civil war. I don't think the taxpayers will play as nice as the politicians if it comes to that.

Republicans are complicit because they would rather lose graciously than win viscously.
But the problems the country faces are the fault of the democrats, going all the way back to slavery.

Republicans have realized it is futile to fight against the Democrats (Communists) and are content to just make as much cash as they possibly can before they are shown the door and are relegated to the dust bin of history. You have got to admire the discipline the Democrats have imposed on their disparate factions. Once the Democrats have won, that’s when you will see the in-fighting begin inside the “big Democratic Tent”. It will be the Ilham Omars vs the Jamie Raskins vs the Joe Manchins in a fight to the death. Meanwhile, the United States of America will just be a name to identify us geographically.
