My walking has increased significantly since I got Turbo 2½ years ago 🐕

Sunday FunDay consists of a lot of walking and/or swimming.

Nothing but the best for my little buddy :cool1:

2.5 miles every other day, regardless of the temperature, been doing it for years -- athough I had a severe backache for 3 months this winter, so didn't walk. However, I started up again last month.

Today was spectacular, nary a cloud in the sky, temp around 35°.

It was chilly here this evening with the ocean breeze so I wore a jacket.

Second, she made you sell the Harley.

Now you hardly leave the house 🤯

IMHO Cali is the best state re: terrain.

You can go boating & scuba diving in the morning & go skiing & snowmobiling later that day.

Unfortunately, I view it as one of the worst states as liberals have destroyed it.

But the Liberal's here don't affect you from boating scuba diving skiing and snowmobiling. Just like Joe Biden doesn't affect what you do in Florida.

Despite my GSD being 12 years old, who can't run around at all anymore, she still craves two long walks per day. I figure I walk with her 20+ miles per week, plus I usually run about 15 miles per week nowadays. That's another way of saying that this belly I have is NOT from lack of exercise.

Rodnok1

Since I have a total Spaz GSD I get lots of steps in.

I walk between 2 and 4 miles a day....on the boardwalk there are some 1/10th mile markers and I counted that I take 7,240 steps a mile. That plus all the regular walking and steps in the townhouse we live in...8 to kitchen from front door,3 to living room from kitchen and 11 up to bedrooms....I tell the wife the steps might keep us going !
I walk outisde unless it's pouring out.

My wife is the "stepper" and tracks it all daily on her watch and apps.

I walk the pup about a half mile a day until she gets older and ride an exercise bike 2 miles a day. That along with other bullshit walking for errands and such.

I have Arthritis and need to stay loose. Laptop/keyboard helps keep my finger motion good by jacking BN2L around during the day.

I'm still lean at 6' 180lbs.

Friend uses an exercise bike to keep hips freed up, if he misses even one day the difference is quite noticeable.

I never purposely walk to walk, if I feel the need to walk it's dog walking time and or pick up sticks. A couple of acres to keep up with and 4 hundred projects keeps me active.

As an old timer told me when I was maybe 20.... Stay active stay alive. He was 80ish when I met him and could out work me easily. He ran a bar for 30 plus years and too many long time customers and friends who retired sat just sat in the bar.
Most would be dead within a year. When he retired and sold the bar he purchased a farm(not a farmer). The exercise also kept his diabetes in control.
Diabetes took a leg when he was 92 and he didn't make it a year.

I walk as much as I can before my knees swell up an give out. On the flip side, I walk as much as I can so they don't lock up and give out due to sitting for too long.

Yeah, they did. CFS has been the driving force behind the increase in lift passes. Look at what the McCoys went through with Mammoth. I could not go down to the beach and spearfish without some BS license that was no more than another hurdle. Throw a line in at Malibu for Calicos without some BS neighborhood telling you you aren't allowed to be on their beach. How about the immigrants that have devastated any tide pool by scrounging and selling?

Please...

Is that app fairly accurate?

Yes. For my part, with getting older, I have prioritized exercise/wellness, so I spend 4 hours a day actively walking (3 by myself, 1 with doggo), 8 hours sleeping, and the rest of it work/etc. I’m pretty regimented in my daily routine, and it seems to work well for me.

I have plenty of health issues that are through no fault of my own and are beyond my control…but I can control my diet, activity levels, etc. :yesnod: :seasix:

Garf, 10miles/day for me over the last year. Average is actually just shy of 9 miles/day for 366 days. Around 3 hrs per day or so.

After a year, I'm now taking Saturdays off.

Prior to retirement I use to run 4 miles 3 times a week and walk 2-3 miles for 3 days .Post retirement walked 4 miles 3 times a week. Then the past few years walking went down to a mile or so due to health issues and then becoming a full time aide for my wife and her health problems. She has improved and just started back to walking 1-1/2 miles 3-4 times a week and increasing the length gradually.
I don't count steps.
