Half/half cherry/pineapple!
Been a hell of a long time since I made one! This is for my daughter, she hinted……

I like a little bit of it. I can't eat a whole serving. After four or five mouthfuls, I find it cloying. Hot, black coffee helps it go down.
I like but I don't crave.

Since you asked, I don't. Can't stand it. It's in the same category as ranch dressing to me :ack:
real cheesecake, not so much.

Yes, this is correct my recipe says cheesecake pie.

It's a pie
"Despite the name, cheesecake is not a cake. By Merriam-Webster’s definition, cake is a bread-like dessert that's baked from a thick batter. And cheesecake's qualities don’t fit that bill.
On the other hand, while cheesecake is closer to a pie given its crust and filling structure, it doesn’t quite fit alongside those types of flaky desserts either.
Given cheesecake's structure, ingredients, and the way it is baked, cooked, and served, we’re chiming in to say that cheesecake is a hybrid between cake and pie. It’s not possible to pick a clear-cut side. It’s a category all on its own, and it’s a delicious one at that."

To me, cheesecake and key lime pie are not radically different from each other in my tasting experience so if Key Lime is a pie, so should cheesecake be a pie.

If pizza is a pie, cheesecake fits as a pie just fine

Any kind of cake, pie, streusel, pastry, donut, sticky bun, or brownies are on my list of weekend cheat foods!
I want to make this:
https://heartlandcooking.com/recipe/hot-fudge-casserole?msg_id=rl12p06ty07wdimmvscgcqib9b05kehp&md5=4ee70a432dd0950392b072df9bca64a0&type=content&utm_source=retention_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HeroImage&lctg=f3bcd01bc658bf23fc7b0e3ed90bd018
Step 1 -In a medium microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate syrup.
Step 2 -Microwave the chocolate syrup on high, for 30-second intervals, until hot, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to let the chocolate syrup boil.
Step 3 -Add the peanut butter into the hot chocolate syrup and stir until smooth.
Step 4 -Allow the chocolate-peanut butter mixture to cool to room temperature.
Step 5 -Line the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish with a single layer of the ice cream sandwiches, using up to 10 sandwiches for the layer, cutting and fitting the sandwiches as needed to cover the base of the dish.
Step 6 -Spread 1/2 of the whipped topping over the ice cream sandwich layer.
Step 7 -Spoon 1/2 of the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the whipped topping layer and then top the chocolate-peanut butter layer with 1/2 of the peanuts.
Step 8 -Repeat the layers with the remaining ice cream sandwiches, the remaining whipped topping, the remaining chocolate-peanut butter mixture, and the remaining peanuts.
Step 9 -Freeze the casserole until firm, at least 1 hour.
Step 10 -Cut into squares and serve.

Right down the center!
Cheesecake is a food group. :yesnod:
Only if one puts in the effort to make a real cheesecake. I grew up in the 70's when mom tried to pass off some jello, or other substitute. Once in awhile I get a serving of that crap at some BS dinner.
I was the cheesecake guy at a restaurant I worked at. It really is simple ingredients and other than a bain marie, it's a basic cook.
If you decide to bake one at home, have the first slice at slightly over room temp. Your welcome.

I like them, a lot, BUT too much damn work to make your own.
So, why play games, go to the place where they make it perfect, in any flavor you want.

Maybe so, for you, I remember once making one with the wifey and it took over 3 hours for prep and bake.
The only thing in my day that I set aside three hours for is a round of golf, or a nap.

The Japanese souflee style cheesecake is deserving of the cake label. I don't think the cheesecake factory makes it. If your cheesecake is lacking I guess you need to gussy it up with all kinds of toppings and layers.

I might represent a very small demographic...but I don't care for cheesecake at all. Just never been a fan of cheese, certainly not when it's baked into a cake. Kind of like when cream cheese is added to a "dessert." No way is cream cheese a dessert. It goes on bagels.

Several others above agree, so you're not alone.....
This recipe isn't the super heavy, super rich, kind that will make your eyes sweat. Not as dense and solid as a traditional cheesecake pie.
Wish I could share, it's a lot for just little old me!

The wifey likes it, they always have a different martini she likes to try.
Their food is average, their prices are too high, but this seems the norm for all restaurants today.
I eat our less than 25% vs. pre-covid, as seems since then dining out has gotten pricey, food has gotten worse, and service sucks.
Anything I want at a restaurant I can make at home for less money, less annoyance and much quicker.
I’m not a used to seeing cheesecake with the fruit inside. I prefer it with the fruit, usually cherries in a sugary cherry sauce, dolloped on top.
