My first car was a '60 vette in '66, and every time I see one of them like that, I just feel SO sad I gave it up after a wreck in '68 ......:sadangel:

Yeah, being a fuelie. Too bad it's not a '64 VW bus. It would be worth twice that.

Because the company was run by men. Real men. Men who did not give a **** what society or the world thought of them.

And the 'Guv-munt hadn't yet barged in with their overreaching safety and emissions regulations.....yet.

Bill Mitchell. Virgil Exner. Walter P Chrysler. John Z DeLorean. Zora Duntov. Bunke Knudsen....and on and on. Great men with a vision. :seasix:

Only really nice Sambas are bringing that kind of change.

I had a 59 HT back in the day. It had a nice fiberglass body and lots
of chrome. It ran a truck steering box, drum brakes, a FI that nobody
,almost, knew how to tune. It looked good but was closer to a truck
running down the road. A radio and heater and your option list was
filling up fast. To get more power you rebuilt the engine forged, cam headers
intake /carb and it would go fast.
It will take Chevy to design the midyears to move into real sportscars.
Go fast and turn fast and stop fast.
The early Corvettes are pretty.
