So I was on a major highway in the middle lane doing 70 (speed limit is 65) and needed to go around someone in front of me going pretty slow.Looked in driver side mirror and no one in left lane...pull over to pass them and see there are a few cars in front of him. Before I could even start to pass some high end Mercedes comes up on me so fast and came so close I could not see his hood . So I just about emptied the windshield washer giving him a free car wash as I was passing the other cars . I was afraid to touch the brake pedal as he was that close....in a few seconds I was past the cars and back in the middle lane.....he fell back, guess he didn't want to wait those 3 seconds and didn't like the car wash :balls:

Is he the proverbial "89x2" from that "other place?"

Who in the world would want two C4s? Or even one?

*89x2* over there starts several threads every day about random stuff that pops into his brain. Occasionally he bumps lots of his old threads so they're the only thing on the first page of OT. Mods don't seem to care since it probably generates lots of clicks IB can brag about to advertisers.

Car wash? My windshield washer lands on the glass, not on the roof.

And next time you venture into the passing lane, press that little pedal on the right. Pass with conviction, then get the **** back over.

The Mercedes was either hauling ass, and you failed to notice him rapidly advancing on your slow moving caravan in the right lane, or he wasn't going inordinately fast, but as soon as you changed lanes, decided to just go balls out to ride your bumper. Either is possible, but I think it's more likely that you failed to assess the situation behind you long enough to understand he was hauling ass to begin with.

Having said that, it's still a douche move to get right up on you and ride your bumper. I've been both you, and the Mercedes, in previous situations. When you're coming up on someone, let off the gas. They've committed to being in front of you, let them get out of the way. When you're the one blocking a faster car, speed up so you can get out of the way faster.

Never tried the 'car wash' strategy, but the way things are these days, I'm not sure I'd risk a road rage incident over it.

I remember him, vaguely.

But is he the OP of this thread?

Passing lane etiquette went out the window in the US long ago. In general I find that people set their cruise control then can't be bothered, too lazy, too proud, or too self-absorbed, to speed up two to four mph when they are occupying the passing lane. Some are so arrogant or stupid that they slow down when in the passing lane.

I had that happen to me. My guess is the guy on my ass was in the right lane behind me and decided to pass at the same time, with a little more gas. Well, a maybe a lot more gas

In all fairness here, it was all Yadkin could do to keep the Mustang reeled in as it attacked the pickup truck. You know how Mustangs are. They like to hit stuff. :seasix:

Race cars, the only type I have owned since 2004, all have washing fluid reservoir delete.

Unlike most Mustang drivers, I am a precision driver, and have intimidation skills that few can match. :yesnod:

I've been the recipient of a free windshield wash. It does nothing except clean my windshield without my fluid being used.

I'm hoping that you don't have that photohack pinned to the ceiling above your bed. :Jeff '79:
