Got a built in one with the Radar Detector, MaxÇam 360 from Escort, in the Hellcat. I am going to get a Blackvue front and rear installed in the Hummer. I don't trust idiots for nothing.

I ran the Blackvue in the Trackhawk and liked it. When Escort came out with their M2 camera it was convenient to mount it on the same bracket and eliminate some clutter on the windshield. It gave a great picture and captured the idiot totaling the Hawk real good. Saved me from paying insurance with it being their fault and proving it with the camera footage.

I know you probably don't care (most people don't) but those Blackvue cameras with WiFi are constantly broadcasting their unique MAC address everywhere you go, making your car trivial to track.

Get a 4k one, you need resolution to make out license plates. Everything else is preference.

Simple, front only camera. Auto Start recording feature (when connected to switched 12v source). Records on removable memory card, auto-over-writes old files once card fills up. No "subscription" needed.

Has battery to continue to record once 12v source is gone (time of power-off recording adjustable).

At least, that's what I plan on verifying once received.

Hubble is old news, you need a james webb so you can read the vin in the windshield reflection from behind the car

Got a postcard from the seller whose dash cam I bought. Says to leave a 5 star review and I'll get a full refund. Asked for an email with a screencap of the review and order number. We'll see if it works.

Certainly explains how some shitty products get so many 5 star reviews. Listing manipulation is a wide practice- once a product gets tons of 5 star reviews, the seller will change the item to something completely different but keeping the item ID so people think a new product has great ratings.

I had one with a battery it lasted a year or so. I got another one with a capacitor. I hope it lasts a bit longer. The reviews I saw stated they were mostly the same video wise as long as they were not too cheap. Read a few reviews some good info on them.

Also, you can access the camera via smartphone Bluetooth; but not required for daily operation.

Camera has USB port, you connect supplied power harness to the port, then plug it into another USB port for powering. Starts recording automatically after power applied. It came with one of those 12v USB adapters:
