I heard with the new synthetics you could go 100,000 miles with no issues. I figure at 100,000 I will just spin a new filter on it and add a quart.

I've gone 6-8 years between oil changes on older cars that only cover 3000 or 4000 miles in that timeframe. No worries. Oil doesn't 'go bad'. It gets contaminated by those who mean well but don't know any better by starting the engine once a month and not driving the car. If you start it, drive it for 5-10 miles. If not, better leave it be. It needs to warm up to burn out the condensation that turns acidic. As far as intervals go, I run with 4,000 miles on my old cars with diesel-spec oil, and about 8,000 miles in my 05 pickup with full synthetic fill.

I am sure that you GTOguy take care of your cars. But generaly speaking
if a guy wont change his oil very often what else is he not doing to
keep his car in tip top condition?
I would avoid a car that had its oil changed every 4 or 5 years or longer.
What else has he not taken care of??
