Thanks for letting us know. We were all worried you may burn your house down or something.

Heat up a pizza stone and then put the pizza on it and heat it. I have leftover pizza. May eat it for breakfast.

Best way to reheat pizza is to do it slowly in a covered skillet. Of course, it's pretty good cold too.

The pizza stone sounds like a good idea but I feel like it will lack that charred cardboard taste I'm looking for.

I use a cast iron pizza pan with some olive oil on it. Pan gets heated with the oven, then the oil is wiped on right before putting the pizza on it.

Cardboard is made of paper, paper comes from trees, so I guess you basically wood fired those leftovers

Yep, same here, no leftovers of any kind at our place.
Dolly is always in beast-mode, she can eat half a pizza AFTER she has finished her kibble.

Didn't know about that, but I wouldn't put cardboard in my oven.

I re-heat pizza on a cookie sheet in the oven. NEVER microwave pizza unless you like mushy crust.

Leftover: When I make homemade pizza (always put ba-KONE on it) I can only eat half of it. The other half is for tomorrow or I may freeze it and have it at a later date.

:slap:

At my former house, the next door neighbors came over one cold November night and asked to borrow fans. I said sure but why? His wife attempted to reheat pizza and smoked out the house when the cardboard caught on fire. ( brilliant and they are BOTH teachers :banghead: )

We put foil on a pan, set the temp at 350* F and it's ready in 8-10 minutes.

I'm debating on whether to cook the spiral sliced ham I bought a couple of days ago, or the big Stauffer's lasagna. Cooking something in the oven for hours is the last step before I start burning stuff in the fireplace. I wonder how much heat I could get from burning the cat. Hmmm.

Could strap a couple pieces to your feet and walk around the neighborhood and confuse the dogs and leave strange tracks

This is true. Happens though. Especially with the new supplier for Kirkland’s brand baby wipes….

You don't have any heat at all except for some 110v. electric heaters?

FWIW: I use the oven a lot in the spring and fall if the house is borderline cool. It's enough to warm it up nicely.

With how cold pipe water is at the moment, I think a bidet would super pucker your pooper. I haven't used mine to find out, but mine isn't a heated one.

My buddy lives in S. Tahoe and said it wakes him up better than any coffee on the market.

We have one with a heated seat, heated water and ass blower

Jet's or Buddy's?

Neither, Buddy’s is way overpriced IMO BTW. It was from Dearborn Pizza, halal pizza with Sojok, some kind of spicy beef. They serve with some kind of ranch sauce and it’s excellent.

I have central ac and heat, the heaters are natural gas fired. I might be slightly over dramatic. Still, it's Summer so long in Houston that I don't WANT to use the oven, because I don't want to heat the house. I grill outside a lot. Spring and Fall here are about a week each. On nights like this, I'm getting the full benefit out of the oven....cooking AND heat.

bill_daniels - So if you have central heat, and your house is 70-ish degrees, and assuming all your plumbing is within the house/basement, why are you worried about it freezing?

Clarifying my previous post: I use the oven a lot in the spring and fall [for cooking] and it warms the house up as a benefit.

I have a bidet in my bathroom with hot/cold faucets.
Never used it once in 14 years.

I don’t understand how you’re supposed to get up with a soaking wet heiny and then need a towel to dry yourself.
Way too many steps.

Pipes bursting in this kind of freezing weather is always a consideration in tropical Houston. At least one of our local members had it happen, and I'm sure he wrapped his pipes and took other precautions. It can happen to anyone. During the '21 Winter storm, probably tens of thousands of Texas homes had burst pipes. I haven't had that problem myself, but your pipes don't burst until they do, and I don't want that problem.

As to cooking with the oven, I don't know, it's just something I've always done on the very few sub freezing nights we have. Call it a tradition. And it has to help give the heaters a break, at least for a couple hours.

Tonight will be the rough one, because we don't have all the residual heat from the day to blunt the deep freeze we're going to get. It's 28 now, going down fast.

I've had numerous frozen pipes in the 42 years I've lived here, although none in the past 5 or so years, so I'm familiar with the problem. Usually you don't know they're cracked UNTIL they thaw, THEN there's water all over. When they're frozen, they don't leak. This is obvious, but most people don't think about it that way unless they've been through it.

If you catch them in time (no water coming out of fixture) you can usually thaw them before they crack if the ice isn't frozen hard enough to crack the pipe, but slushy enough to stop the flow to the fixture. I try to locate the most likely spot and use a hair dryer on the pipe.

So let me re-phrase my question: If all your plumbing is within your heated (insulated?) living space, why do you think it will freeze as long as you keep the house heated?

Some of my plumbing is on the floor directly above an unheated crawl space, so that is my usual trouble spot. But that's only when it's well below zero for several nights.
