The tree that grew the wood, got the carbon that burns in the fireplace from the CO2 in the atmosphere. So when a politician burns it, he or she is only returning the CO2 to the atmosphere from whence it came, and therefore, is not adding to climate change.

When a peasant is burning natural gas or oil products (like gasoline), the carbon in those things also came from the CO2 in the atmosphere, so he or she is an environmental criminal, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Yes. Much like National Debt, the POTUS may use carbon credits as a loan to better our lives. That fire makes the sheep feel warm, and safe, which balances out the fact that residential wood burning in CA produces more nastiness than autos, even diesel.

A month or so ago, I got a post deleted, and a warning for a post in a thread about battery powered leaf blowers. My post was mostly on topic, but I did throw in a few things meant to be humorous. My warning stated that my post was "unnecessary", so I sent Cumdawg a PM asking what rule I had broken, and he said it was posting political stuff in OT.

Seriously? Battery powered leaf blowers is now a political topic?

I've only made a few posts since then, and none in the last couple of weeks, simply because it is no fun to post when there is no possibility of following the rules. Why bother to type when any post can get me a ban just because one guy doesn't like it? **** him.

I'll keep my mouth shut, because I would like to continue to have access to the extensive knowledge base for C3s, but banter in the OT area there is just no fun.
