Buying a million different tickets for the Powerball would give you a 0.3% chance of winning. There are a whole lot better ways to throw away that much money, or better yet donate it to a good cause.

FL is one of those states unless every bit of the winnings goes into a trust.

I've never purchased a lottery, scratchoff, or other such ticket. My wife does. If we won a huge jackpot we'd tell nobody, lock the ticket in a safe deposit box, hire a lawyer and accountant to set everything up in a trust, and live off the trust. Claiming it the next day holding up a huge check on TV is the dumbest thing you could possibly do.

I would not want to win that kind of money, its more trouble than worth. I like my life the way it is and already have enough to retire when I decide I am ready. Here in FL, the lottery commission won't let a winner claim the prize unless accountants and lawyers were involved in setting up trusts, tax payments, etc...

There'd be two things I'd invest in...

One would be to donate to build a cancer wing on one of our hospitals.

The second would be to build a venue for kids baseball like below with hotel and restaurant space.

What's shown is called The Shipyard Park located in Mt Pleasant SC. We've been several times for tournaments when my son was younger and it's great (but not as great as Cooperstown but a very close second).

If there's anything left I'd buy my wife a Lexus that she wants. (this may move to #1...Ha!)
