First, if you do not like bacon you are gay!
I saw this posted on Yahoo news. 8 different methods of cooking bacon. I've always cooked bacon in a nonstick skillet on the stove. I never tried these other methods that were mentioned in the article.
Water in Skillet
Microwave
Nonstick Skillet
Baking on a Rack with Paper Towels Underneath
Air Fryer
Sous Vide
Cast Iron Skillet
Baking on Parchment Paper
So the winner was the last one - Baking on Parchment Paper - Martha Stewart.
Bacon-Cooking Method: Baking on Parchment Paper
Total Time: 18 minutes (regular-cut bacon); 24 minutes (thick-cut bacon) + 10 minutes oven preheating time
About This Method: Martha Stewart’s technique promises a “spatter-free” way to get “perfectly crispy bacon.” You simply line one or two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper, arrange the bacon on top, and bake at 400°F until it is crisped to your liking. When the bacon is done, you transfer it to a paper towel–lined plate or platter to drain.

Because the bacon sits in its own rendered fat as it bakes, it cooks more quickly than if you cooked it on a rack. The fatty parts also get wonderfully crispy (if you like that), because they’re basically fried. If you prefer your bacon chewier, you can simply cook it a few minutes less to achieve that effect.
Both regular- and thick-cut slices cooked evenly and completely flat, without any need to flip them as they cooked. One cleanup tip: Make sure to cut a large-enough sheet of parchment paper so that there is overhang on all sides. Then fold the excess up so that the drippings don’t seep through any cracks. I tried this (it’s not shown in the photo) and when the bacon came out of the pan, I let the drippings cool slightly, lifted up the parchment, and directed the drippings into a container for storage. I threw away the parchment and inspected the pan — there was not a trace of grease. It went back in the cabinet without even a rinse.

Crispy bacon is no good, it means it’s overcooked. :slap:
Frying in a nonstick pan results in too crispy bacon, it frazzles too fast. I use a revere ware pan and fry at medium high heat. If done correctly it is nicely browned, but still very chewy.
Nothing breaks my heart more than ordering bacon somewhere and when it comes you can hold it out like a stick, with no limpness at all.

Cast iron skillet then cook hashbrowns and eggs in bacon grease... Num num.
Friend of mine likes bacon perfectly flat and over cooked. Any other food he won't touch if over cooked.
I throw lb in pan and let it go, he hates it but eats it(not a commie).
My wife creates bacon. It'll shatter if dropped. :toetap:

Pork eaters represent! :D
Sometimes like it crispy, sometimes not so much. Seems to depend a lot on when was the last time I ate... And probably the time of year. In either case a pound of bacon drenched in the egg yokes of a half dozen sunny side up with a big wad of wheat bread toast is a good meal that'll last me for a day.
Lots of other ways to use bacon though. For example I usually toss in a piece of bacon when boiling green beans to make them more flavorful. Pretty darn good with scalloped potatoes too :yesnod:

I cook mine on a paper plate, with two rows of paper towels between plate and bacon. Microwave for 2.5-5 minutes depending upon how many pieces.

I like crispy bacon. Not way over cooked, but crispy.
I make bacon on the grill. Don't walk away from it. Things happen fast.

A light crisp is nice. Not burnt. I use my air fryer and the only thing I hate is the splatter. I’m tempted to try this method but don’t want to take 35 minutes to cook bacon lol.

Crispy - with a sprinkle of sugar on it while frying - the best .
I fry mine in a cast iron skillet, pour off the excess grease, and fry the onions, peppers, and potatoes and then the eggs afterward, over easy. I like it cooked but not to a crispy crisp.

No such thing as excess grease. :funnier:

I cook bacon damn near every morning. I do it in a non-stick (not teflon) skillet on very low heat. I flip it every ten minutes for 30 minutes. At that point, the fat is translucent and the meat is cooked through but it hasn't gotten crispy yet.

I do. She doesn't. The above photo was a rare event. Usually limit it to two or three a year now. Two go in our freezers every year and, every once in a while, a friend will ask me to raise him one.

I always have a small tupperware type container of bacon grease in the fridge. It drives my wife crazy, which of course, is part of the allure. We both like our bacon a little crispy, but not cooked to death. I find it easier to achieve this if there is a little grease in the pan when you start, otherwise the first few pieces have scalded/burnt spots when the rest of the strip is cooked, unless you watch the first pieces like a hawk, which neither of us is good at. So I heat the pan, add a big blob of the grease from the fridge, let it melt, and go to town!
I also use it to grease pans for certain things. I have to sneak that though, the wife hates it when I do that. I also use it as a substitute for mayonnaise on things like turkey sandwiches. Try it, and you'll thank me later. :yesnod:

I'm not a big fan of raw bacon, and I don't think that lady would enjoy the cooking process much either. :nono:
How long does it take?
Depends on which smoker I use. One smoker only goes up to 300°F and it takes a couple hours, but it can do 4lbs at a time. Cookshack SM045. Toying with the idea of replacing it with a FEC100.
