It was a 10-day shutoff notice from the water company.
It’s now 7 days later.
They're bluffing. :yesnod:

About 2 ½ years ago they mailed me a back flow inspection form to filled out by a certified inspector just like they do every year.
I ignored it and last week they put a shut off notice on my door.

When they come to shut it down, tell them to cease and desist.

Never heard of such a thing. What does that even mean? Sounds like either your sewer is going into the water supply or it's just another government double-speak scam dreamed up to steal your money.

It’s for the "back flow valve" that supplies water to the lawn sprinkler system.
The shut off notice said Monday 27th after 8am it could be shut off.
I finally did call a certified back flow valve inspector and he said he will make it here one day next week.
I didn’t ask the price because I need it done ASAP and I know that’s going to bite me right in the ass.

Ah, thanks for the info. Explains why I haven't heard of it, no sprinklers.

Look at the bright side, at least your basement won't flood again.

Install a Moen shut off valve, not cheap, but neither is a home rebuild if house floods

It's not about that, it's about an inspection.
Install a Moen shut-off valve :funnier:
You clearly don't know anything about this topic.
I had to pay a couple grand every year for these inspections with the complex I was running in Chicago.
It takes less than 5min for each one.
Kewl is probably looking at $300-$400
Biggest thing is having a trustworthy inspector!
Some will "fail" it & then offer to have it "fixed" at an exuberant rate.

Water is a human right and should be free to those who can’t afford it is the mantra here in Michigan. Politicians are proposing a 2 dollars a month additional charge to subsidize this human right. Of course the people who can’t afford to pay their water bill still seem to find the money to buy weed and nails and braids and what not.

Get certified and do it yourself?
I know a person in South Carolina that does it. Easy 100 bucks an hour for 10 minutes work..

Run a hose to your neighbor's hose bib, while you're at it, tap into his electricity and cable too!

Wasn't he already doing that? I thought he lives in Philly.
Had a back-flow preventer at our last house.
The annual inspection was $29.
Don’t pay a penny more!

So, Doug has something to do with this?
Yaddy knows all about getting water from Neighbors.
Maybe he can help.

Well, it was a 10-day shut off notice and today is 10 days.
I had to get up super early this morning at 7:50am to call the water company to make sure they don’t shut off my water.
Then I went back to bed till 12:30

Damn you! I hope my neighbor doesn’t read this forum. Hope I buried the lines deep enough and hopefully he hasn’t noticed the bill increases, but doubtful thanks to Brandon.

The “guy” called me and told me he took care of it.
I really don’t think he even came out to the house.
