Front wheel drive - well ahead of its time. :yesnod:
Drove a 69 Eldorado for a while, does that count?

Someone spend a lot of time and money to make that car even uglier.
Drove my buddies a few times. It had a big V8 and for a cow like that it would move.
They were ugly compared to the Riviera and Eldorado , so no I wouldn’t drive one unless you gave it to me

I had a '75 Eldorado. 500 cid V8! Sucker would move.
Friend in high school in the late seventies had an early seventies Toronado. It was cool to watch him smoke the front tires.
Only an 86 model. It was boxlike in comparison
The Eldo had the 429 in it and we used to challenge the guys in high school back home in Denver to race. The catch was we would run to Laramie and back, that was the Eldo's wheel house. The worked up first gen Camaros and stangs had no chance to keep up let alone make it that far and back. :D

My dad had a 78 when I was growing up (similar to attached) and you’re right, that thing would move. It drove like a sofa but would do so at 100

Yes, I drove a Tornado my Dad traded in years ago.....prob well ahead of its time but problematic. Early experiments in production cars are not something everyone should buy. I remember GM's sojourn into VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) in some Cadillac's IIRC - didn't go well - at all.

The infamous V8-6-4. Slightly better than GM's first diesels in passenger cars.
Jay Leno likes his...:D

Ugly? You guys are nuts. Very cool cars, the early ones. Big 425 or 455 engine, front drive, flat floor. Smooth, powerful, quiet. Our neighbors bought one new when they came out in '66 and I loved the look of the flared exhaust tips that the bumper was designed around. 91494
