Wife and I were talking about opening a rescue and pet sitting business for local domestic pets. We (Omaha) have a growing problem with people abandoning these fur babies.

I think the plandemic shutdown played a role, pumping demand while folks were stuck at home and then returning to work, many might be finding it hard to keep up, working three Biden jobs and all.

I’m almost 60 and just not sure I have the energy or time to do another business? Plus I might get stuck in Nebraska winters, longer. Ugh.

Rescue dogs are the very Best! Every dog I have ever owned was a rescue. My current little Rottie girl was found cowering on the side of the I-10 interstate hwy!! :sadangel: Dont know her story, but Ive had her for about 4 years now and she is the best!! I found my Lab wandering on the beach when I first moved to the Gulf Coast about 10 years ago. Took me 3 months to catch him!!:yesnod: neither of them were chipped, but they are now...:seasix:

One night, about nine months ago, the wifey baked a loaf of banana, or some other useless fruit, bread.
Before she left for her evening shopping, she pulled it out of the oven and placed it on the range top, with a large towel underneath.

Seeing as I only eat apples, the item at question had no appeal for me, even though I was told that I was told to watch over it--how is this done??

Anyways, about 20 minutes later the ever-hungry Dolly appeared before me with bread flakes around her mouth, easy to figure this one out.
She ate about half of it by reaching up to the counter-height range top, bit the towel, moved the bake pan to the edge, without having it crash to the floor as an alert, and dined on it.

The wife got home and was pissed, I advised I had no knowledge of what may have happened, and told her I would spray the downstairs for bugs after she went upstairs for the evening--pretty sure she knew exactly what happened.

What, I was suppose to rat out Dolly, NEVER!!

I got one of those moments yesterday. Sitting on the couch with my little female watching some financial videos. The little boy was missing and he has a tendency to go into the main floor bathroom and have the door close behind him. The little girl sat up suddenly, hopped off the couch, went down the hall and pushed the bathroom door open to let him out. She then ran back to the couch and resumed her position on my lap.

Wonder if I can teach her to retrieve a Diet Coke?

I just took a nasty fall outside the back door. Didn't notice the ice, went head first into the BBQ control knobs and smashed my knee. I even passed out for a second. I woke up to Wendel at the back door barking his face off trying to get through the door to me.
