Lakeland Cars & Coffee is no more apparently idiots started showing up and tearing up the nice, small town airport venue - I've seen it happen too often, going all the way back to Genro's in Virginia Beach to Old Town in Kissimmee, Florida. A few @holes ruin things for everybody trying to get their 15 minutes of undeserved fame. Rumor has it that Latino gangs invade Old Town after sunset, some instances of a thug running across the hoods of the cars in one case. Sometimes I'm glad I'm not doing that whole thing anymore - I wouldn't take the disrespect very well:

Did they not encircle the place with stone walls topped with broken glass? That's a requirement for their culture.

I remember Genro's from back in the day. At one time they shut it down and moved it because of the idiots. They were getting a bunch of complaints from the ABC store about people parking and not having room for the customers. They moved it back and settled stuff down. It helped to have the VA Police Precinct right across the street. You could see some neat vehicles come up and show them off. It was great to walk around and shoot the breeze with some other gear heads who enjoyed turning wrenches. I saw some awesome cars over the years there.

culturally, things deteriorate a little bit more with each generation, going back 100 plus years. In another 50 years the savages will totally outnumber the productives and it will be a total shithole. We passed Idiocracy in 2020, IMO.

I nearly snagged an original 1965 Shelby Mustang at Genro's, the guy showing it didn't seem to know what he had and it was very rough, but I overplayed my hand and the fella began to understand he had an unpolished gem...
Our little monthly car show in downtown Winter Garden, FL met its demise due to COVID, all of the street parking got converted to outside dining tables and the northern yuppies liked it so much it became permanent.
Pic of the last show they had, the split window was popular, to say the least:

We had a very good one, Tower Shops off 595 in Davie, always enjoyed it, good car folks.
And then they stopped it, as built a few hundred thousand feet of out parcel buildings.
Cars and Coffee in WPB, https://www.carsandcoffeepb.com/ , has picked up the torch and done well, I am too lazy to drive the 35 miles.
I used to hang out at Genro's. I don't remember when they stopped having cruise-in there - I stopped going when the ricers took over and the cops would show up all the time.
