When Managers were Managers and baseball was Baseball. Now they let instant replay do all their talking and make sure the starting pitchers don't go more than six innings even with a no-hitter. Baseball sucks and i don't watch it anymore. :yesnod:

Baseball sucks. No cigars, no yelling at the ump, and a bunch of over paid players that can't even complete a game. The WS showed that no one cares about the game anymore.

I keep weird hours. Retired with no one to answer to anymore. Well that and insomnia. OP:Live repeats at midnight to 3am EST so there is something worth watching on the boob tube.

You don't like when the players do their little celebration dances? It's so cute!

Baseball does, in fact, suck now.

It’s really too bad the Trumpvax got him.

I guess you haven't noticed but it's your pedophile and Willie Brown's whore who's pushing it now.

I don’t have a pedophile, but you sure seem fixated on kiddie porn.

It's your people doing it. One has to ask why democrats are so fixated on going after the children with gay sex.

It's what the Left does. The Right will never understand. Thankfully.

All that is barely left for me is NASCAR.

Golf, followed by Baseball are the only sports where you can do anything else during it's time on the air and not miss a damn thing

There was nothing like a Dodger game at Chavez ravine in the 70’s and 80’s. Cheap tickets for a good time on a nice day. We had a cooler packed for after the game and just hung out watching the gridlock. If I needed to leave right after the game, I would just drive out using the incoming lanes. My friends laughed their asses off as we drove past all the cars with glass packs screaming on my built ’65 Mustang.

NASCAR going along with Hangnoose Wallace’s scam didn’t set well with me, but it does add another dimension as I can root for him to wreck in every race.

I attended the last game Billy ever managed, in June 1988 at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers swept a 3 game series against the Yankees and George fired him the next day.

Went to my first Dodger game at the Coliseum 1959. Went to Chaves Ravine the third day they were open in 1962. Got kicked out of Dodger Stadium in 1974 with friends for tormenting the LF of the Cubs. Went to the 1978 WS 10 rows back on the third base side. Use to be $2 for bleacher seats. :yesnod:

I have no idea. You’d have to ask a demoncrat.

Your fixation on it is weird though. Maybe you should get some help.

On the contrary, I think that every decent adult in this country should be asking themselves just why democrats are so desperate to expose seven and eight year old children to gay porn. Frankly, it's disgusting and the last thing we need is for people to ignore this perversion. It needs to be dragged out into the light and the leftists responsible need to be exposed for what they are.

I preferred the $4 seats at the top behind home. I got kicked out in about '86 for climbing up on the sunshade one evening...

The funniest part was the security staff. They were throwing all sorts of stuff out; trespassing, endangering the public, etc. Then they just said don't come back like they had some early version of facial recognition to enforce that request:rofl:

A friend of mine still has 4 seats in the handicapped row at the very top that he shares with his parents. Other than the chance of a beer being spilled down your back from the standers, those are nice seats.

Tommy, Earl, Billy... None would last these days with the needy and demanding players.

Leo "The Lip" Durocher would be ordered into some sensitivity training program within 5 minutes these days.

José Cardenal didn't play for the Cubs in 1978. Might have been Gene Clines

Yup, but he did in 1974...

I saw José Cardenal play for the Cubs in 1976 at Riverfront Stadium against the Big Red Machine. It was a Sunday game and my Grandpa and I did the dog on a chartered bus out of Indianapolis or Greencastle or some other fly-specked Hoosier place.

Sparky played Bench at 3rd base and Rose at 1st base that day, if I remember correctly, or maybe it was vise-a-versa. Joe Coleman, recently from the Tigers started the game for the Cubbies. We had good seats behind home plate and could see his forkball just dropping off the table.

George Foster smashed two taters that afternoon, out of 52 that season. Good Times. :seasix:

Foster was a freak. Like if Wemby played baseball at that time:rofl: Now, 6'1" 180# is a second baseman.
