Theres a lot of hidden tricks in there ,
if you do the cash advance promo on a CC, you need to cut it off of any other use,
because each new charge afterwards starts the interest accrual , you cant use that card as
a pay in full each month for 0% interest with the cash advance balance showing.

Who in the hell would try and get a cash advance on a CC in today's interest environment? You're talking 30%+ interest.
This has to be a troll thread.

Post pictures of the front and back of the credit card and I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

Had a co-worker do that in 2007. 31% interest for down payment on a new 65k SUV on a 7 year loan at high interest. Then he sold his house so he could 'buy again when the market dropped and keep the profits'. He lives on a boat in Mexico now.

I've never taken a cash advance on my CC but the interest starts immediately and not at the payment due date?

The cash advance offers I had a few years ago were , they mailed me the promo with 3 blank checks for up to $4k
with a 0% for 18mo at a flat rate cost of $200.
I used them twice to fund my trading account when I was very certain of a +50% gain trade opportunity.
The key is, you cant use that card anymore until you pay the advance in full otherwise they begin charging the interest .
go to bank, withdraw cash from your account, done.
unless you are broke, in which case bring a ski mask..... (no, don't do that part).

100-$100s = $10k = 0.85" of notes ....depending on new or old .
This is a cash cassette in a Chase ATM with approx. 18" of $100s=$180k
The new group of 100s toward the bottom is $10k

I started doing this as an accident when I had a few thousand overnight. "Gun" safe is not necessarily all inclusive.
Go to college, get a degree in Transvestite Studies, and Joe Buddy will send you a boatload of cash.

Well some pre-planning and a little home equity can get you a HELOC, I have one for $200K and can write checks and ATM if needed, but you have to use it responsibly - like for home improvements; taking loans against an appreciating asset to fund depreciating assets (like a car) are never a good idea.
I recently did a $20K pier/deck/boathouse renovation with the HELOC and paid it off in 3 months.

My local credit union shows 6.25% for a 5 year HELOC.
I'm sure there is plenty of fine print to get that rate.

Mine can step up quarterly. I think it's a 7/20, so my access may be expiring soon. That's fine. I've pretty much gone to a cash and carry life on everything but the home.

The rate they list is fixed.
We currently put ~$750/mo into a "house & vacation fund" that my wife has input on spending.
I wish I had bit the bullet and had the basement finished, but I was waiting for supply costs to come down and I thought the economy would be in the shitter and I could get a contractor.
oops...

oh yeah, I know that.
I'd hoped that if the economy went downhill, contractors would be looking for work.

Same here, wife and I started a "House and Vacation Fund" we put cash in monthly - somehow its become just a "Vacation Fund" and I'm paying for house maintenance/upgrades out of my income. There is a future domestic squabble lurking in there somewhere.
A HELOC, with reasonable interest, is still a better cash device than a CC because of the games cited above lurking in the CC contract fine print...

credit card is not happening...that would be an absolute last resort.

inflation is killing the dollar.
If you have cash in savings, it is making 4-5% at best and not keeping up with inflation.
