The batteries will outlast the car and the rechargeable batteries are required to be covered for 8 years under federal mandate. I probably won’t keep the car that long, but if I had to replace, imagine that in 8+ years, the price will be very manageable.

You are assuming that economies of scale and advanced tech will bring down the prices of those batteries, just as happened with flat screen TV's. The fundamental difference is, the batteries require raw materials that are expensive to mine and refine even if you can find enough places TO mine.

I'd say the bigger concern is that as more EV's are sold, the demand for replacement batteries will way outstrip the availability of those replacement batteries.

The fatal flaw of the whole "green energy" pipe dream is there is no way to economically store power. We're having to adjust traditional stable energy production, coal and natural gas fired electric plants, to adjust to the fickleness of solar and wind production.

Many of these comments are just plain wrong - this is gonna be a helluva car - FAST, capable, amazing. Faster 1/4 mile than the Z06 but made for street and highway performance driving vs. the Z06 more of a true track car.

IF I was buying a C8, this would be the one. It has only one battery, A Li-po - proven technology , long lasting - warrantied for 8 yrs 100,000 miles. Sounds great, handles great, all wheel drive ....
