These are bots that weigh in at 250 LBS maximum. All of the bots are unique with different weapons. Lots of $$$ spent on these, and some get completely destroyed.

I've built smaller tabletop size fighting robots, it's a great hobby for sure, but you of course need to be able to stomach seeing your creation get destroyed.

I remember seeing a warehouse in vegas with the battlebots logo outside of it, figured that's where they always tape, so maybe they're always in vegas?
