Do you do the same shit everyday? Same routines? Don't. Change it up. Go see or do new things.

Last week we drove a 100 miles to a nature preserve. I really don't gaf about a nature preserve but it was something different. Saw some bear, elk, birds, asian's with cameras and alot of nothing.

Tomorrow, I'm going in for surgery. we'll se how that plays out. Something different. :D

THIS

When you worry, you doubt God.

I quit being a worry wart long ago. Always looked at it like......What's the worst case scenario?
Lose everything? .......BTDT
Get tossed in jail?.......Again?
Have somebody try to kill me?..........Again?

I just decided to quit worrying.
But I still carry everywhere.

Not worry about myself. I worry about my wife, my kids, my new grandson......I worry about dying and not having done enough to care for them all. My grandfather passed away way back in 1968, he was a very good man, worked hard, raised his children, worshipped the lord, etc. a good person. BUT after he died there wasn't enough money to pay the house expenses, my Gmom had to move into a shit apartment.....Then they started talking shit about him....An entire life of good, then boom overnight being bad mouthed.

I can't allow this, I just can't....

I've done MORE than enough to insure my wife, kids, grandkids, will be ok.
I've informed my children that my wife and I will probably piss away $$$ invested. They will inherit my home and rental houses.
You plannin' on continuing to bust your ass working, worrying about the quality of life THEY'RE gonna have after you croak?

I use to be a bible thumper in my younger years. DAB may know where it is written but your wife comes first. Worry about setting her up after you're gone.

I just spent the last year of estate planning for mine. Your kids and grandkids are not your problem.

I am leaving my son from previous marriage a small insurance policy. He is well off anyway. My wife will inherit 90% of the rest and leave it all to my son when her time comes

It's normal to feel bad about a situation like your Grandmother's, but worrying about events that MAY happen to random people you will not be in control of after you are gone is wasted energy and focus. No, according to the definition, I'm not.

My family is far from random and my lives work shall not go down in vain. I do kinda agree with DAB. I haven't found the contentment to allow God to take over and just be OK....Now my wife has, and she seems to be worry free about her future, this helps me a bit. I wish I could follow her with this calmness about old age or getting older....

Not having the strength, the stamina, the fading power, all plays on my mind...Now, don't misunderstand, I'm strong for my age and told this often, just not who I was a few years ago.

I guess for some, it's easier than others.

Only care about the 4 F's. Everything else is nothing to even give a second thought about.

1) Feed

3) Fornicate
4) Family

If they don't feed ya, finance ya, **** ya, and they're not family...they are insignificant in your life. That will at least narrow down your field of "give a shit."

I feel blessed every day to have the strength and knowledge to do what I can do. And I’m not a giant man at 5-8 165
Probably have 99% of my strength but I get tired and have to take breaks. I live with joint and muscle pain everyday. And when I get out of bed in the morning it takes a little while to get going.

I also believe as DAB does that it’s all in God’s hands. When I worship Him in my deeds and actions and praise His blessings on me, I find that the day is a good one. And if I’m an ass, he lets me know that too.

My grandmother LOVED her rose garden. As far back as I can remember she was tending to her roses. I remember visiting her one day and commenting on her flowers, or more accurately lack of. 'I just can't physically do it anymore.' She wasn't really sad, she had just accepted this was something she could no longer do in her early 80s.

I remember thinking this woman had balls the size of King Kong. She could no longer do something she absolutely loved, accepted it, and did what she could. I'm sure some of this wisdom comes with 80+ birthdays. Physical limitations come on slowly. She didn't wake up one morning and suddenly find herself physically unable.

Maybe. But I find religion to be a personal matter. What I believe is my business and I’m under no obligation to share that with anyone.

This is probably where you share whatever scripture it is that supports your post. Go ahead if it makes you feel better but I’ll put this in the ‘we’re all sinners’ category when I don’t comply.

As for DAB? Dude is a ****in’ hypocrite of the HIGHEST order. When he starts swinging his Gideon around, first I roll my eye then laugh at him. Oddly enough Larry I don’t get that vibe from you at all.

All kinds of things cause high blood pressure. Pain, stress, TDS, etc. Basically a clue to something is wrong

You should get that checked out.

Worrying is a sin, it’s not trusting God to provide and protect you.

:iagree: The bible mentions "Do not worry" 365 times.

The answer is, Yes!

I've left a mark on the planet that has the life expectancy of 300+ years!

Not kidding!

I personally built a 40 ton capacity bridge (highway specs), for my first homes access over a stream. This structure is so strong so big and so heavy virtually nothing can destroy it. There's a brass plaque with my name on the bridge, my name will surely be uttered! Keep in mind this bridge is already 36 years old, still looks brand new!:yesnod:

DAB's one of the nicest people here, rarely a cross word for anyone. I don't understand your animosity, and I don't understand the point of publicly attacking him. Were you this outraged at onedef92 also?

GTOguy

That’ll be your 3rd GTO right?

At present, yes. In the mid '80's, I had five at the same time. All running driving cars. All '65-'66-'67's. The two current ones I've had for 41 and 40 years respectively. I sold my '66 in 1990 for the then huge price of $6500 to buy a house. It was my nicest car at the time. Haven't had a '66 since then.
Looking forward to puttering in the shop. The owner is the son of the original owner and his wife wants him to get rid of it and the grown kids don't want it (they like lifted trucks) and he wants somebody who's into these cars to get it back in action. I look forward to it. Going to do a mechanical rebuild on it from stem to stern and cosmetically clean it up, but no restoration or new paint job.

Thinking on this topic a little deeper, it's not really worry.

It's caring. I care so much about my immediate family, I want them to be safe and able forever......I said earlier, it's not worry about myself and I'm not in fear.

Maybe, if I stop or try to reduce this mindset and become content, I'll reach no further heights, they may suffer. This, doesn't seem to fit me.

If you don't care about anything or anyone, I guess you're also worry free..

I think we all have various worry-cares-fears-anxieties ,

from health concerns to IRS or legal issues , financial requirements or funding shortfalls, increased violent crime, open boarders,
the devaluation of our dollar-the lists are endless .

The main one for me & I'm sure a lot of others, is our life long thoughts of a happy-peaceful retirement being overshadowed by a treasonous political party & socialist agenda gaining full strength, causing a bleak forecast of our future freedoms & stability.

As mentioned earlier, all those things are out of our control & will require a bus load of faith in God to help us stay balanced .

I thank God I wasn't raised Catholic. Everybody I know who's Catholic has PTSD....even the ones who weren't sodomized by priests. Organized religion is the biggest con in human history. I believe in God, but despise the monetization of churches based on guilt and empty promises perpetrated on the 'believers'. To each his own.
