Customer had the quoted and although it was three times the price of when they had it done in 2020, they accepted the quote.
About 2-1/2" thick and 9" in diameter cold rolled steel with 283 holes , a 1/4" in diameter thru.
Spotting and drilling took 6 hours. There is a 6" scale for size to the left.
Yippee hi yeah :leaving:

What is it?
It's for a company that does painting / silk screening. I think it's just a big strainer ( mighty expensive too )

F'ing aye holmes. Nice work!
My ls engine machining and parts quote increased 20-30% back 24mos previously compared to pre-covid pricing quote in 2020
I'd speculate labor costs certainly haven't decreased over the last 24mos niether.

In what could be a hostile environment (inks and dyes) I might have sprung for stainless stock... I bet they are replacing the badly deteriorated original.

Material cost have at least TRIPLED and labor ( shop time ) costs certainly haven't dropped at all.

Could be, they're ordering four :yesnod:
I did do one part with one drill. I changed the drill for the next one one Monday.
My "R" plane ( clearance / jump height between hole locations ) is 1". If a drill should start to fail, I'll stop the spindle and coolant and the stick another drill in on top of a 1" thick piece of aluminum. All set without having to start the drilling completely over again.
Harbor freight bit, cordless, handheld drill (with spare battery!), profit!!!

Program 3 axis CNC mill/drill, check tooling, watch the show.
When it comes to chamfers, you don't cut any corners.
I'll show myself out...
