When I retired I thought I may try playing golf. Bought a brand new pair of golf shoes. 10+ years later...never put the shoes on and never played golf. Put the shoes on market place. Today a black lady messages me that she wants them. Lives close by so give her my addy and says come get them. She messages me do you take some kind of app for payment and I says no...cash on pickup only. She shows up saying they are for her kid who plays foot ball. I tell her...you know these are Golf shoes? she says...Yep, they will be ok. She
obviously sees the cop car and asks if I know such and such from the same dept and that he is her relative....Nope dont know him. Now offers to pay with a "cash app" and I say..no I only do cash. Ok...Ill be back with cash if you dont sell them first. Now we aint talkin about a lot of money here and I was about to just give them to her....I tell her take the shoes for your kid and come back when you have the cash and that I trust her....long story short....she has failed the test of honesty.... I've had the opportunity to work with local black churches at least three times in my career and I learned from the first experience that I would not get paid. I chalked that up to my portion of reparations payments.
So the second time I gave them very preliminary designs and an invoice for a portion of my total fee, and waited for it to get paid. Phone calls from them to proceed were responded with "as soon as I get paid for the first portion", which never happened.
The third time was a church which was converted from masonry building with a single truss roof. They had hired a member "contractor" to 'open up the ceiling', and the guy cut out the lower truss chords and plastered the bottom of the top chords. This caused the side walls to deflect dangerously outward. I insisted on meeting with the church board in attempt to explain the problem, the risks that they were taking occupying the building, and to come up with a solution that was aesthetically acceptable.
The meeting was early in the evening and the pastor showed up on a new Harley. Other board members had newish Mercedes, Lexus(es?), and other luxury brands. Explaining the issue to them was like a scene from Don't Look Up, but I persisted the best that I could. They decided on a long steel beam below the ridge. We discussed budget and even how they would finance it from their weekly nut, which was all reasonable and relatively inexpensive, based on what they had already paid their member "contractor".
I priced out the beam itself from a local supplier. It was in stock and reasonably priced. I did a cost estimate for the total install and my fee, then sent them a proposal. A few weeks later I got a phone call 'why haven't we gone forward', and my response: 'waiting for a signed proposal'.... That was several years ago.

We investigated complaints about an auto repair shop that used the Church in it's name and claimed to be a black Christian affair. The preacher had his drug runners run drugs in customer cars, stole parts off the cars, stole the cars themselves and reported them stolen, etc. Biggest, most racist POS I've ever seen. He even had his church members rent cars that they would never return and use them as drug mule cars. He ended up shut down and locked up. Took us like 3 years.

We investigated complaints about an auto repair shop that used the Church in it's name and claimed to be a black Christian affair. The preacher had his drug runners run drugs in customer cars, stole parts off the cars, stole the cars themselves and reported them stolen, etc. Biggest, most racist POS I've ever seen. He even had his church members rent cars that they would never return and use them as drug mule cars. He ended up shut down and locked up. Took us like 3 years.
We had a black preacher in my old 'hood, western suburb of Winston-Salem and lilly white. His church was in the dark section of town. He wouldn't pay his HOA dues for several years so we took him to court with discovery and all that. His church budget included his personal expenses, house payments, car payments, and even a "hat allowance" for his wife.

I live in a big in area but small in population town in rural NY. (about 1200 year around people)
In the best of my knowledge for many years we had no blacks in the town, this went from year around to weekenders coming up to their camps.
We do have one black family now living in the town. Very nice people, husband, wife and two kids. He is a contractor with a good business and well thought of by all that know him. Nice house right on the lake and he has one of the fastest boats here (We have a lot of fast boats on this big lake:D)
Too bad there were not more like him it would help defeat the well earned stereotypes that race has earned over the years.

There were several very young black kids and their mothers (assume mothers or aunts/grandmothers)...btw no men, just saying...

Now we aren't talkin' about a lot of money here, and I was about to give them to her...I tell her to take the shoes for her kid and come back when you have the cash and that I trust her....long story short....she has failed the test of honesty... In Orange County where i live out of the 3.1 million people with we have only around 44,000 black people. If they can afford to live here then they are well educated and have great jobs. And we have over a half a million Asians. Now L.A County is different. Of their 10 million they have a little over 800k Blacks. L.A county has more Hispanics than any race close to 4 million with about 1.5 million Asians. The Asians are very successful in both counties and in California. Most pay cash for their homes and they have a bigger percentage of graduating students in college. Are they smarter, NO. They apply themselves because they were raised that way. So no race has any excuse.

The whole "Stop AAPI Hate!" non grass roots generated "movement" fizzled and failed once it became obvious to everyone that the only people attacking Asians were black people. The MSM showed you the "Stop AAPI Hate" marches, but then had nothing to follow up with, as the attackers of Asians turned out to be exclusively black people.

Update to the honesty test. When I messaged her to just leave the cash under the door mat if Im not home her reply was she only has the money on her cash app and she would have to go buy something to get the cash back in change and then she wouldnt have the full amount to pay me. I told her that's fine, to go buy something for a couple bucks and bring me the rest.
No reply as of yet. I mean, I know/knew I would never see the money, but Im giving her every chance to redeem herself and her race...:yesnod:

When I worked down in Detroit for 20 years I almost never had a problem with a black dude out in public. They did their thing and I did mine in peaceful coexistence.
Now black women on the other hand... I had a few encounters with some sheboons that made my hair stand on end. I realized over time that they have a fairly misandrist viewpoint on life. They don't seem to like black men much either, I always figured this was due to many of them having suffered their share of domestic abuse. But they seemed to really reserve their anger and contempt for white guys wearing a shirt and tie.
I always made it a habit to avoid contact with them if I could.

Experienced some of that back in the day working in DC. I always made a practice of laughing in their face. This was good for two things - it really made them lose their minds and it put a smile on my face for hours. Win - win.
