In life, most things we do often, and then repeat, and re-repeat, we do better.

For example, golfing and silent farting and drinking other people's liquor.

But this does not apply to driving skills, most who suck early on only get HUGELY worse each year. I was driving at 15, and 40+ years late I would like to think every aspect of my driving skills is at optimal.
Also, almost none of these dingbats know the rules of the road, and NONE of these fools are astute on Right of Way.

I am tired of double waits to make left turns, due to people are slow as crap to turn when the green arrow is on-I will be on your bumper every time, AND NONE OF THESE DUMBARSES WILL EVER GO LEFT AFTER THE ARROW IS GONE.

Knew a young lady, may be family, NOT a daughter, who cames from a shithole state with jug handles, she came here for college, and refused to make a left unless the arrow was on. She laughed about how many behind here blasted her with their horns, she was not changing her rule.

I realize bigger cities have bigger problems, but also think small towns have the same very high percentage of morons behind the wheel.

I will be first in line for those car drones helly thingys.

No, not really. Hit or miss I reckon.
The occasional elderly headed to the market traveling 35mph speed limit in town isn't an issue at all.
The out-of-staters ie tourists in massive RV's and Harley-riding posers slowing traffic on nearby highways are the issue around here in summer months.

My beef with left turners are the ones who sit at the stop bar, looking at the green ball or blinking yellow arrow, waiting for the opposing traffic to clear. Most here, in this car forum, don't know to negotiate that movement. You have the opportunity to get into the intersection, so ****ing take it. Most of the time this allows at least two cars to get through the cycle, even with the heaviest oncoming traffic.

Flooding the country with more and more illegals isn't going to make things on the roadway any better for anyone. The people pushing this shit on us, they eventually have to get out on the roadways with those same 3rd World drivers, unless they confine their areas of movement to Martha's Vineyard and other cloistered communities of wealth.

Houston is particularly dangerous in this regard. Tens or hundreds of thousands of illegals on the road, no license, no driver's training on how to drive in America, no insurance, and no ****s given when they crash into you. They simply abandon the beater car and go buy another one for cash, cash they have because they didn't pay for insurance, licensing, etc.

Here in California, when you see an idiot driving, 100% of the time have out-of-state plates. 95% of the time, they are from Arizona. Normally, Texans drive well here. Midwesterners are also bad drivers.

STAY THE **** OFF THE LEFT LANE, WE DRIVE 80 AND ABOVE.

Another thing that mostly tourists do, although I'm sure that there are brain-dead locals as well, is not understanding the laws regarding speed signs.

For instance, the use of the TRUCK designation on a black-on-white regulatory speed limit sign; as in TRUCK/ SPEED LIMIT 45. If you're driving a Subaru, it doesn't apply to you. If you're driving your monster Ram 3500 Dually, it doesn't apply to you. In these instances the speed limit reverts to the state default of 55.

Then there's the black on yellow speed signs. These are not regulatory signs, shit-fer-brains. Yellow means CAUTION; nothing more. And the number there is for the least common denominator; usually a commercial vehicle. If you're driving your SeeAreVee on a sunny day, chances are that even you will be able to negotiate that turn a lot faster.

Guess that beats the people who think a green circle light means they have the right of way and destroy your truck and send you into a huge metal light pole...

To make matters even better, if you get hit by one of these illegals, count on them not having a license and certainly not having insurance. Also count on the police not doing a damn thing about it.

I have ignored ALL speed limit signs for decades, as I speed, a lot, and the less time you are on the road between two points lessen the probability of getting ticketed or being in a accident.

I explained this once to the kind officer, he did not buy in.

I agree with this concept in principle. However to speed without getting caught requires advanced techniques. One tried and true method that I employ is the "rabbit" method.

The Rabbit is a variant of the Left Lane Bandit, in that he takes the desire to keep everyone behind him to a much higher level. He self-identifies when you attempt to pass him on the right, then he speeds up.

The basic idea is to exploit this individual to your advantage. Annoy him by "attempting" to pass over and over, to the point where he goes faster and faster. Then hang back by 10-20 seconds and enjoy the ride.

I did this on the NYS Thruway one time, driving most of the way between Buffalo and Syracuse behind a contactor's van. His huge radar shield protected me the whole way, until he was finally clocked by a trooper in the median at over 100mph. I slowed, then gave him a beep and a wave as I passed him, stopped on the shoulder nder flashing blue. :D

Missing a stoplight is not poor diving skills IMO; its complicit, willful distraction twitter-facing or insta-toking and damn the drivers behind you - entitled jerks for the most part.

I'm a highly trained and experienced driver with a wealth of associated knowledge. I drove a transit bus for three years, took a course in traffic engineering in college, worked for ConnDOT Division of Traffic, took continuing education courses in traffic engineering with Northwestern University. I spent four days learning advanced driving techniques at Watkins Glen in the late 80's.

I learned how to drive in Boston, home of some of the most aggressive drivers in the world. I driven in about 2/3 of the US states, as well as Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein.

And I know how to drive a Porsche in snow. :yesnod:

For a while, it seemed like suddenly people at left-turn lights would wait at the stop lines when they had a green arrow, until traffic was sufficiently light that they could make a left turn from the stop line. I don't know where that behavior came from, since it never used to happen.

I got in the habit of assessing whoever was first in line for the left turn and if I detected them waiting at the stop line when the left turn light was green, I would get in the green-lighted left lane ahead of them, positioned so I could easily turn into my chosen lane. Occasionally these morons would honk angrily. It didn't matter, because their poor driving typically didn't allow them to catch up to me after I had safely made a left turn under conditions that did not meet with their stringent standards.

But for some reason, I haven't seen these left-turn perfectionists in about 6 months, so it hasn't been necessary to do this lately.

And for the record, I still have to do this when people are making a protected u-turn from the stop line. If I detect that's happening, I'll bypass them, get into position for my left turn and proceed accordingly.

Its percentage game. Lets say 20 years ago 50 percent of the population were poor
drivers. Today ,double the population and include the illegals ,and ,you end up with 75
percent of the population, as very poor drivers. You have to add, the i phones, as another
distraction. Only recourse for good drivers is too have patience, alot of it. There are too
many, of them ,to shoot.
