I had a nice red snapper........yes the mowing kind, and I long loaned it to my Mom, when hers went kaput. (I was using a rider) She was having the neighbor kid mow her grass........when she moved, instead of giving it back to me, since I could still use it around things, she sold it in a garage sell for $25.............

As a well-established Sigma Male, Yadkin isn't looking for a pat on the back by anyone. He is fully aware of his own high value and has no insecurities or doubts about his own substantial self-worth. As a Sigma, he is merely sharing with us his current small projects around the house for the sake of sharing and making pleasant conversation. :)

Nah, I'm gonna holdout for a CorVolt.
Seriously though, I replaced my gas powered one because I got tired of having to tear down the carb twice a season to clean all the crap out of the bowl and jets (thanks to ethanol). And it always required it when I'd head out to mow the lawn and, after not being able to start it, I had to take time for the cleaning.
I was leery at first about electric but I have to say, it's been great. 2 batteries, rapid charger (only needed more than 1 battery for the first cut of the season when the grass was really long and kinda wet), self-propelled and plenty of power for my lawn.

Not so much. Near the summit the winds do a lot of damage, then the very active parasitic plants take over, driven by all the moisture. You may recall me having to take down the Big Ugly (https://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133898&highlight=hobit) a while back.

Cleaned up and together again.
Since I have her on the operating table, I've decided to fix the the front wheels, which have gotten sloppy. The axle is a 1/2" fixed shaft and the "bearings" are the ID of the plastic wheels. I ordered bronze bushings from McMaster Carr and they should be here on Monday.
The wheels have worn to just under 5/8" so I ordered 5/8" OD bushings. I'll drill out the plastic to 5/8" and press the bushings in. May need to glue.

Bushings came in today and I installed them.
Cleaned up the axles and dry-fit the bushings. Note that this will offset the wheels the width of the shoulder.
Used a step drill to center a 5/8" hole in the plastic wheel. Drilled out the remainder with a 5/8" Forstner bit. Used a large Forstner to machine down the outside of the wheel to make up for the bronze shoulder.

Someone who wants quality. Retail was $799. It's a cast aluminum deck, professional model designed for both the US and European markets. It has a three speed transmission with steel gears, not a simple friction wheel like a residential style mower. Parts are still available.
My "big box store" mower that I had before, same engine, cost me $300 and lasted five years before parts in the RWD broke. Parts were unavailable.

I have a Toro "recycler" that I got at Home Depot for about $350. The "personal pace system" wore out and shit the bed after 6 seasons. I got all the parts I needed for $50, so I rebuilt it. That was now 6 years ago, and the self propel is beat again.
I'm wondering if Bidenflation has increased the price of parts to over $100, in which case I'll have to decide between spending the time and money to rebuild it again on a 12 year old mower, or just get a new one.
