DeSantis needs a big boost to get out of Iowa, down 23% based on last week's polls:
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-primary-r/2024/iowa/
NH and NV are next, if he fails to beat Trump in any of the first three, he will be out, as the money will stop.
It gets impossible once the donors leave you:

I like DeSantis, but it is not his time, running for 2024 was a mistake, as being a loser never helps your resume.
Hopefully he can bow out graciously, and raise some money for Trump.

Who gets to decide whose time it is? Is there a vote or something?
God help us if it's Trump and Biden again.

If only the was a politics forum…
There is, it gets almost no action.
At least 10 threads on first page could be categorized as political, two were started in the past 24 hours.
If this is your job, you suck at it!!

I would think the polling is going to be very similar to the voting, as that is how it usually happens--and that is how it is decided.
Again, I would vote for either in the general, as of now it appears DeSantis may not get out of IA, or NH,,, just the polling facts.

Yep, polling for IA and FL are very poor.
I would think if he wants to run in 2028, he needs to exit BEFORE Iowa if these numbers do not improve.

You're opposed to Trump?
I'm actually surprised by that.
No worries, each to their own :seasix:

DeSantis will win Iowa, NH and NV. And the nomination. Count on it.

NH looks equally bad:

NV is even worse:

Please share what polling sources tell you DeSantis will win all three, thanks.

Huh? Where did I say that? I’ll vote for whoever runs against Biden. I’d prefer someone younger than Trump who doesn’t act like a spoiled brat.
I’m opposed to 80+ year old guys running the country.

I am also, but the rnc is useless, if only they were 50% as competent as the dnc we would control the oval and congress.
DeSants is a fool for getting in the race this cycle. He should have waited for 2028 with a clear deck. Big mistake getting in the mud with Trump.
And he has pissed off a lot of Floridians who opted for him to be governor.
If anything he should have came out in support of trump and worked for the vp spot. He likely would have had it.

We both said this early one before he declared, and now I feel he hurt his chances in 2028.
It is sometimes all about timing,,,

And then when Trump has a grabber from all that McDonald's he eats DeSantis would be POTUS anyway.

No way Trump would choose him as veep.

It’s obvious the big money GOPe guys got to him. Otherwise he would have been wise to get on the trump train. 70 million would have welcomed him. He’d own MAGA. And like I said, earned a spot as veep. Then, be The Man in 2028. Probably unstoppable.
But the nevertrumpers own him. And all of MAGA knows it. And MAGA doesn’t like it.
Not a good move for Ron.

Not now, no, but back in the day before DeSantis double-crossed him Trump would have probably chosen him as his running mate. :yesnod:

If DeSantis positioned himself correctly he would have been a shoe in.

Exactly. But Ron got snookered by the lure of GOPe money.

DeSantis is a fool for listening to those who told him he could beat Trump in the primaries.
I do not fault DeSantis, but this makes me question who will be guiding him in 2028, hopefully much smarter people.
I could have told him he did not have a chance, my advice would have been free to him.

Very most excellent point, and should Trump win the endorsement from him will be for his veep, not DeSantis.

Current polls are fake news. I still predict Trump drops out and DeSantis is the nominee. The next few months will be interesting.

Naturally it depends on the poll results.
