My C7Z M7 was finally completed about a month ago, spent $40+K parts and labor, almost all things were upgraded, all hoses and lines changed, all fluids changed:

1) stayed with stock cubes
2) had to replace crankshaft due to overheating episode, it was blue
3) replaced a few rods and pistons, I feel original factory build was very poor, had rods and pistons balanced as factory variances were way too high
4) Stage 2 cam, upgraded lifters and rockers, upgraded cam bearings
5) 103 TB, 4" CAI, should have gone 5", as this is bottleneck, losing 2+ psi vs. 5"
6) upgraded radiator, innercooler, 19" fan, 2-gallon supplemental coolant ank
7) upgraded oil cooler, upgraded all hoses / lines
8) ported blower and snout by JokerZ, DSX Lid
9) 2.30 upper and 9.45 lower, should be 15 - 16 psi, again only at 12 psi due to CAI
10) C5.R Timing Chain, ATI Dampener
11) Mantic Triple Disc, Flywheel, Slave Cylinder
12) DSX secondary pump and Flex Fuel
13) full exhaust, 2" coated and wrapped no cats, X-pipe, Borla 4.25 quad tips--coated
14) tons more, shifter, valve covers with relocation, MSDs, MM catch can, etc..

Dont mind the haters....That's some impressive numbers. Numbers they will never see....:D

Besides, this is the only year GTO worth owning....:seasix:

Your tire dealer better be sending you fruit baskets for Christmas, is all I can say. Damn. You should be able to bust the rears loose in 3rd and 4th, too, with all that power.

Congrats, OP.

I just sold mine yesterday. Had it 8 years. They are fun rigs.

We don’t talk about the tell lights…

I’d say sweet build if the C7 wasn’t so ugly…

Jk man! Sweet build.

Good numbers. On SAE smoothing 5, I wonder if those squiggles in your graph are due to spark blowout. Any idea what your plugs are gapped at? Might be worth a few numbers to get the gaps right. Other than that tiny detail, seems like a sick and solid build. You did it right!:seasix:

Thanks Zeek, on stock cubes and stock blower I am happy.
Have always loved GTO, long before Johnny R. stole one.

Pretty sweet. Would drive :seasix:

Thanks, it is my daily.
I only drive about 500 miles a month, has good street manners, e85 fuel economy is almost equal to what I get from 93.

I have not addressed the traction issue, as need to go to a DR, but then I have to get a replacement daily driver, as seeing as I no longer sell my cars, that could require a new house with much bigger garage.
Right now I have to be satisfied with highway pulls rather than launching.

Congrats, OP.

I have owned mine for almost 7 years, bought it 2 years old with 1,700 miles, paid $72K, msrp was $108K.
What is your next car??

Same here.

Thank you, you have some nice rides too!!

Sweet build! :yesnod: What did you do with the taillights?

I never see them, only those I leave in a trail of tire rubber, so no concerns.

Should have gone with the 3/4 race cam. :yesnod: :ball:

Should have gone Stage 3, but the current one is plenty lumpy, and loud!!

Jk man! Sweet build.

I still own my C6, on a list for C8Z, but I think the C7Z with M7 and any C7ZR1 are cars that will be coveted for decades.

IIRC, the tuner, who is world-class, former GM calibrator, is now in charge of calibration for his company, said the bumps were knock (I may be wrong).
I have other graphs after which are much smoother, and I can tell you the drivability from low mph in first gear to a 4th gear pull is very smooth and consistent.

I feel I am leaving 70+ on the table, and will get once heads are ported, and I replace the 4" cai with a 5".

Thanks for your comments, greatly appreciated, and I hope others still post their car fun, as I always enjoy.

I've still got my Lingenfelter C6 ZR1 and our '68 GTO vert. My order for the new C8 Z06 got accepted, so will hopefully welcome that one home in 6-8 weeks or so.

Congrats on the C8Z, hope you get it soon.
I am on the list at Ciocca, today I am 654, I doubt I will get it until 2026.

Willing to bet your C6ZR1 has enough to beat most every C7Z and C7ZR1.

Thank you. Don't give up on yours - it seems like they're actually starting to build them in decent numbers now. But, they sure had one hell of a slow start to producing many of them. I think the lists will start shrinking pretty well over the next year.

Our youngest just graduated high school, and he and I are taking the ZR1 on a road trip in a couple weeks. Good father/son trip before he heads out of state for college. He loves that car, and claims it as his - which if he keeps his nose clean might be down the road.

Since when is 717 considered "high HP?" :D:leaving:
