View Full Version : Trump Indictment Thread (sorry Zeek)
May as well put this out there, not sure how I feel about it yet. Everyone is reporting at least 7 charges and we won't really know what and how many until next week.
I guess the one thing that I know is true is that this could have been avoided if Trump just didn't have to be Trump about all this.

https://globalnews.ca/news/6553057/venezuela-maduro-arrest-juan-guaido/
CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Friday that authorities haven’t detained opposition leader Juan Guaido because the courts haven’t ordered it, but he warned: “It will come.”
Maduro made the remark in a meeting with the international press three days after Guaido returned from a tour to the U.S. and Europe, in defiance of a court order prohibiting him from leaving the country.
Despite the order, migration officials let Guaido into the country after he arrived on a commercial flight at Venezuela’s main international airport.
Maduro said that the day Venezuela’s justice system decides Guaido should be imprisoned “for all the crimes he’s committed,” he will be jailed. Venezuela’s judicial system is stacked with pro-Maduro officials who routinely issue decrees in accordance with the president’s viewpoints.
“That day hasn’t come yet,” he said in response to a question from The Associated Press. “But it will come.”

Not happening. All these indictments by these career politicians are their feeble attempts to hide their own corruption. Trump is the only one who is willing to interrupt their corruption.

Riiiiiiiight, "hey guys, we're corrupt so let's get the DOJ to indict Trump for those documents he took".
Like you always do, everyone's fault but Trump's and you think I'm the gullible one.
Hmmm, if only there was a post leading up to all of this? Oh wait you knew that! https://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132670

Sadly I think many are starting to feel that way. The difference with this one is that it's not a conspiracy theory or a witch hunt, he had the documents and they were recovered from him. I think what's important is how implicit he was to obstructing in getting them back.
Also, if you don't think this same prosecutor won't indict him for January 6th I think you would be wrong. I just fear if elected his entire term would be a waste of time fighting off legal issues.
He needs to get a stroke, a widow maker, or naturally. It's obvious the left has been messing with him since 2016, but this godforsaken circus needs to stop.

I don't wish him ill but I agree the circus needs to stop. The sad thing is there may still be 2 more to come, where will it end? Every hit hurts his chances and you have to wonder how long before people that have been loyal supporters have had enough. I think we'll get a better idea when the indictment is open and we see what the charges are.
I'm also hearing Meadows has an indictment? Need to look into that more.

Personally, I think the main reason Trump decided to run again is in an attempt to avoid getting indicted. That hasn't worked out so far except that he can now claim election interference.
Trump really needs to bow out of the primaries and focus on handling these current and possible future indictments. Endorse someone and become the kingmaker instead of trying to be the king again.

I agree, but either you are right about his motives so he can't or he just can't back down. Either way 2024 is setting up to be a mess.

Yep, we have a parallel situation here. We are in the middle of a Marxist revolution, and if you reject that that then you are rejecting history.
Famous last words: "It can't happen here!"
If they manage to imprison Trump, and the next president is a Democrat, WE ARE NEXT on the chopping block.
This political persecution isn't just going to go away. Marxists want complete and total control and ownership of EVERYTHING and they will stop at nothing. The only reason they haven't gone farther yet, is they know there's 300-400 million guns in private hands out there. But in the long run, that won't scare them.
https://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=336&pictureid=3568
But we're way WAY too comfortable yet to resist. We have plenty to eat, and we still have a fair amount of freedom so they will keep coming.

Nothing will happen to Biden while he is POTUS. That is one of the many reasons the Republicans have to win in 2024. They need to win the White House and the Senate (and keep the House). Then clean house and indict everyone.
If Trump is guilty, he should get convicted. Same for Biden. If you really want revenge and for Biden, etc. to get indicted, the best way to get that done is to support someone other than Trump for the Republican nomination.

The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society.
We have for years witnessed an uneven application of the law depending upon political affiliation.
Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?
The DeSantis administration will bring accountability to the DOJ, excise political bias and end weaponization once and for all.

It is fair to be uncertain about DeSantis as POTUS. Being POTUS is much different than being the governor of Florida. However, he has a history of doing what he says and not backing down.
Would Trump go scorched earth if he wins again? Maybe, but he has a history of talking a big game but not executing when it comes to the deep state. All it takes is someone kissing his ass and he backs off.
Biden needs to be held accountable. Same for Wray and others. Biden winning again (or Newsom/Harris/whomever) and that will never happen.

The lawyer for Donald Trump’s valet, under scrutiny in the Mar-a-Lago documents investigation, has submitted court papers describing a meeting at which a top federal prosecutor brought up his application to be a judge when they tried to gain the valet’s cooperation last year, according to three people familiar with the matter.
The allegation, described in a letter filed under seal with the chief US judge in Washington, James Boasberg, could affect the investigation just as prosecutors are considering whether to bring charges…
…At issue is an incident that took place last year, around November, when prosecutors were trying to gain the cooperation of valet Walt Nauta, who has been under scrutiny because prosecutors suspected he helped the former president conceal classified documents that had been subpoenaed.
Nauta had already spoken to prosecutors in the investigation when they called his lawyer Stanley Woodward and summoned him to a meeting at justice department headquarters for an urgent matter that they were reluctant to discuss over the phone, the letter said.
When Woodward arrived at the conference room, he was seated across from several prosecutors working on the investigation, including the chief of the counterintelligence section, Jay Bratt, who explained that they wanted Nauta to cooperate with the government against Trump, the letter said.
Nauta should cooperate with the government because he had given potentially conflicting testimony that could result in a false statements charge, the prosecutors said according to the letter. Woodward is said to have demurred, disputing that Nauta had made false statements.
Bratt then turned to Woodward and remarked that he did not think that Woodward was a “Trump guy” and that “he would do the right thing”, before noting that he knew Woodward had submitted an application to be a judge at the superior court in Washington DC that was currently pending, the letter said.

And yes, if guilty then prosecute, just do the same for all offenders regardless of political affiliation. Bearing in mind that a bunch of ex-Presidents did similar things and it was worked out with the cognizant agency and wasn't the impetus for rabid prosecutors and expensive investigations.

Once you hate Trump, you hate him at all levels, while sacrificing your rights, as you rubber stamp the targeting and one-off court actions.

When will they indict him for hurting the feelings of weak minded people???
When he does that maybe, right now they're indicting him for taking classified documents and obstruction and who knows what. He brought this on himself.
The question is when will his supporters just admit we're here again because Trump had to be Trump and stop blaming everyone else. My feelings are not hurt by Trump, his lack of understanding between right and wrong is what bothers me. His need to pick a fight and blame others when it blows up in his face bothers me. His followers blaming everyone and everything else when he does this is what bothers me.
He'll get his day in court for this indictment as well as the last one and the ones to come so he can show us all how innocent he is and how everyone else is to blame. All he had to do is give them back and cooperate like Pence and Biden did when they were found instead of hiding them, claiming he declassified them, saying he could do whatever he wanted with them and on and on.
He did this to himself and all the whining isn't going to change that. The real shame is he is making it almost impossible for him to be effective as a leader in any capacity ever again and all the good he could have done will never happen. His fault, no one else's.

I believe you have stated the above numerous times in different posts.
You hate Trump, you always have, hopefully you never sit on a jury when he is tried, as you have proven again, and again, and again, objectivity is not strong point.
Trump IS THE TARGET, as he is the only one willing to stand up to the facists, in attempt to save Our Great Nation.
He could walk away now and all would be good for him, but he is doing this for us, he has always acted in the way, being POTUS cost him $1+B, but he never once regretted his choice.
If you would care to go and look, you will not find one post in which I said I hate Trump. I think he's a poor choice for a leader, I don't respect him and I don't trust him. Those are things I've said. Now you want to say that I have a problem with being objective, I could say the same to you as you would let him have a pass based on your love for the man.

If there is an analogy here, it’s closer to a sitting leader refusing to respect the will of the people and attempting to overthrow a government. Let’s not forget that same president also turns on his own people at the drop of a hat, has a great relationship with two atrocious dictators in Russia and North Korea. The later he calls a dear friend.
When it appears the entire world is against you, it’s not the world that is the problem.

Exactly, the people Trump and his supporters claim to be clueless keep outsmarting him. Happens all the time in Trump world.
There is no outsmarting going on, When the game is rigged 100% to one side, and the other side keeps playing by the rules, they will loose, thats why Trump is not our current POTUS which is not the will of the people.
Trump was loved by all, everyone wanted his name on their product, he was the #1 ratings guy on network TV,,, and then he said he would rid dc of corruption and thieves.
If you believe he has been treated fairly, we can stop discussing Trump.
Also, you do not have to use the word 'hate' to show others you hate someone, your other words are sufficient.
They loved him for his money before he was elected president. Not a single word about him being a racist. He actually won awards from black organizations.
He has known about the corruption in our political system for ages. I have no doubt he greased a palm or two.
It still comes back to the fact that he cannot be bribed with sex or money like any other politician. His actions interfere with all of the industries that make millions off of these endless wars. His actions interfere with the steady flow of cheap illegal immigrant labor. His actions take away from all of the countries that sell us crude and hate our guts at the same time. Career politicians talk and talk about problems but rarely solve the problems.

So comparing America to Nazi Germany, right.
I think I know you better than that. The Jews were never accused of committing a crime, they were persecuted for being Jews. I'm not sure how you can compare the holocaust, a mass extermination of human beings, to Trump being accused of committing crimes like stealing and hiding classified documents.
If that's really what you think then OK I guess.
Let us ALL be objective in here.
Do we think olamo's house, paid for by bribes related to national security and corps he did favors for while in office, would have been raided with 30 long guns and kevlar if he had a few non-detrimental classified documents while biden resided and garland took the orders.
As of today, we do not know how many documents of which Trump was the addressee, the nature of the documents, the correspondence between Trump lawyers and the National Archives.
What we do know is biden as a senator stole classified documents not specific to him, he had them poorly safeguarded in multiple locations, he was allowed to have his lawyers handle with no gov intervention, and the news of this has pushed into the ground deeper than Jimmy Hoffa.
Yep, these are your people you side with when you oppose Trump.
And yes, I can compare Trump's treatment to every socialists and facist regime, they all desired a one-party state with no elections needed due to they eliminated the opposition.
They want the Electoral College and the fillibuster and 60 vote in senate thrown out, while making dc and pr a state, while allowing 16-year olds to vote.

I just heard a good interview with Andy McCarthy. He said the declassification is a non issue for the DOJ because the Espionage Act specifically deals with security violations. It doesn’t matter if the documents were declassified because they are not allowed to be out of government control.
Trump is more likely to get jail time on an obstruction charge according to McCarthy.
Media focus on Trump keeps the Biden family’s corruption out of the news. Mission accomplished!

Please provide us all with any harm that you personally suffered due to Trump keeping both russia and nkorea at bay.
I have searched an cannot find any agreements that did such to the American people.

You are 100% percent correct. However, that doesn't mean Trump is innocent.
Some of us agree that the system is corrupt and skewed to one side while at the same time realize that Trump is his own worst enemy and could actually be guilty of committing crimes.
Here is what I struggle with regarding this case specifically. I wonder, in his shoes, what lengths would I go, to obtain, protect, copy, whatever, information that dispelled the things I am being accused of. It's an odd conundrum because he has to break one law, to prove he didn't break another law. Do I think Trump is a "can do no wrong" angel? Hell no. Do I think he is being specifically targeted? Absolutely. The part that seems to escape the left and the Trump haters is that he is not being targeted because of laws he may or may not have broken. He is being targeted and those laws are the weapons used to target him. You may see that as gray, but it is no different than having the local sheriff out to get you because you have a better house than he does. He will search and tail and record and do everything he can to "get you" and when he does, the reason will be valid, but the motivation is complete bullshit. That is where Trump is right now.
The goal is to destroy him, but not because he broke the law, but because he is a threat to their corrupt system. The alleged law breaking is simply the method by which they will achieve their goal.

Trump's victory in 2016 was EPIC, never done before, and will never be done until the world implodes.
The cabal is still fuming over it,,,
Whatever. I heard the talking heads this morning speaking about Trump's "baggage". All I could think of is how they are the ones that packed those bags.
Call it "whataboutism", I DGAS but there are those in DC and the families of those in DC that should have been seeing FAR more "justice" than Trump is seeing. so if this is about each person's own wrong doings, go after all of them equally. How is it that Hunter is a victim (as you can clearly see from the pictures on his laptop) of false information, but ANYTHING said about Trump in a negative light is assumed to be true?
How can ANYONE with at least two brain cells that communicate, not see the incredible imbalance?
How is it that Obama, Pelosi, et al have amassed such wealth from a job that pays less than most CEOs?
I am blown away by the absolute ignorance liberals and fake conservatives display. It is mind-boggling. They continue to try to convince us that 1+1=5 no matter how many times you explain that it doesn't.

You and peeloser are right, he has always been guilty, proving his innocence is not a pursuit of the courts.
Only his sentencing needs to be decided.
This is good for all of our rights, we have no problem receiving the same processes.
I will presume the charges are based upon proof confioomed by the special investigator that the classified materials were marketed to a foreign entity,,, right??
I’m guessing more likely that some were destroyed. I doubt he would go as far as to share or sell them.

Destruction is usually carelessness.
Treason and espionage are ALMOST ALWAYS the action to distribute to a foreign, usually opposition, entity.

Based on the 37 charges, and their severity, Trump could be arrested today and placed in a federal prison until his court dates.
The rationale would be that the threat to national security is ongoing, due to his multiple sales of classified documents to multiple foreign entities.
This cannot be safeguarded without his solitary confinement through the trail date.

Yes, I know. Intentionally destroying classified documents to hide a crime is considered a violation as well. I have no idea if that's part of it though.

This is nothing more than weaponization of the government. I don't give a damn which side you are on, you all should be concerned. These are the same tactics used by Stalin, Hitler, Mao, et al..... Literally all of us know that previous administrations along with a large portion of the house and senate have enriched themselves off their political positions,(pay to play, bribes, kickbacks, etc.) but yet nothing is ever done but a bunch of bullshitting around. This is the kind of shit that leads to a collapse of a country. We are a banana republic and nothing more. That is all I have to say about it...

You're putting words in my mouth. Based on the information provided in the indictments, if it is accurate, it is fair. However, there is no question that there is political influence. Should that absolve Trump of his alleged wrongdoing?

There is political influence and it is obvious for all to see. It's real, puts a stain on the DOJ, and should be fixed. It's related to this case, obviously, but separate from the substance of the allegations in the Trump indictment. If he committed these crimes, he should be convicted and serve the punishment.

Simply cooperate and find a different battle to fall on your sword over, maybe one that matters.
Imagine working in the WH with that ADD 78-year-old man. :confused5:
The same POSs that keep all the Trump BS going, with hundreds of pending indictments, are the same people who in 2016 committed crimes 1,000,000X more illegal and more in-depth than Watergate, and yet, NONE have even been placed before a prosecutor for consideration, let alone be served or arrested.
Yeah, keep telling me how fair this is,,,
Yes, and the Republicans do nothing. There are 222 Republican congressmen and 50 Republican senators. That's 272 political elected officials, but we only hear from the same ones: Graham, McConnel, Kennedy, Cruz, and others. If the GOP would have Trump's six, there would have been support for him since 2015.
I still believe the threat to this country is Balack Obozo.
Trump is a simple Narcissistic, Entitled Douchebag. He's admitted to it all, well except for the women part. I still do not see any GOP backing on him except for that lip-locking suck-hole Lindsey Graham, Shawn Hannity, and Pillow-Man..

Now, yesterday I heard Pence's announcement, and this morning I listened to it. We make fun of CumDawg's PM banning people, and a few of you posted asking "Who talks like that?" I had the same question this morning while I was listening to him/Pence. What would be the reason he always let it be known about his marriage; is this guy a fudgepacker? He sounds like his ass is so tight that if you shove a lump of coal in it, you'll have a diamond in 11 minutes.

Let's reflect back on what happened to Nelson Mandela
A checkered past
Member of a radical group
Accused of treason
Repeatedly arrested
A Marxist
But above all, he was seen as a martyr and that erased all that happened before.
It's a thin line between criminal Trump and martyr Trump and the persecution could get him over the line. As was said elsewhere, it's easy to look past the tactics of those out to get him until you realize it could be them one day.
How to avoid a 37 count federal indictment
FBI - ring, hello can I speak with Donald
Trump - this is he
FBI - hi, we understand you may have some documents that we need back.
Trump - yes, I may have some. Did you want to pick them up?
FBI - yea, that would be great. Also, can we look around a little as well to make sure we have them all?
Trump - sure thing.
Indictment avoided.
The most troubling thing I've read in the transcript of Trump asking "what happens if we just lie to the FBI about the documents". I'm not sure how you can defend that if you're Trump defending himself from obstruction.

That's all it would have taken and none of this happens. But that's not how Trump does Trump.
Another failed Trump promise
This is incorrect.
It was not a campaign promise. It was campaign rhetoric that began from the attendees at his rally's. Of course he was going to play along.
When he won the election he specifically said he was against the idea and we do not prosecute political opponents in America.
Obviously that has all changed.
