Tomorrow will be 10 months since I lost Linda.

A lot has changed since then. Still miss her dearly, I’m a little heavier, and am due to join my church as a member Sunday. I have found a new purpose: helping the ladies of the church with handyman type projects. Doing a pond/fountain tomorrow morning for a nice lady.

Before you call it a day, give your wife a big, huge, I mean it kiss and serious hug. Someday, you won’t be able to do that anymore. And of course, tell her you love her.

7 months for me yesterday.

Still trying to figure out my purpose in life now.
Not promising. After 52 years, hard to imagine life minus that constant.
:sadangel:

I am taking a former caretaker of my MIL's to visit with her on Sunday,
but that is not my purpose.

Doug & Mike,

Prayers guys. No words will help, but time will eventually. You do the best you can. Find some distractions or things you like to do, and try that until you find something that sticks or you like.:cert:

spent the morning helping a lady clean out a little fountain/pond (10' diameter, 3' deep), installed a pond liner, filled with 700 gallons of fresh water that I hauled there, put the plants back in, got the fountain up and running, and she was thrilled. i'm becoming a guy that the "grey haired mafia"/little old ladies turn to for jobs bigger than they can do. it's good. gets me out, keeps me busy.

tired, sore, and dirty when i got home. pants were disgusting. clean now, washer just finished.

as Linda noted to me long, long ago, you need 3 things in life: someone to love, something to do, something to look forward to.

sage advice.

This was shared with me a long time ago and I believe it.

i pumped most of the nasty water out of this mostly concrete lined pond, but then had to mop out the rest with a large sponge. on my hands and knees. pants cleaned up nicely! so i'm talking with her, and we're recounting the command to love your neighbor as yourself. well, this is what that looks like today. dirty job. but a fantastic result.
