My point was a Memorial Day thread, but yeah, I did intentionally dig on Kamala, so if you've got Trump saying something inappropriate about Memorial Day, by all means, post.

If you're gonna post "I like people who weren't captured," consider that Memorial Day is to remember and honor our war dead, not veterans that came back (that would be a Veteran's Day thread, which McCain, who I despised, legitimately qualified to be honored for), but feel free to post it, or anything you feel is Memorial Day related from Trump. He certainly has enough cringeworthy material to work with.

Ship's bell, recovered from the cruiser USS Houston, lost in the Sundra Strait, Sea of Java. It was previously located on the Battleship Texas with a small display, but for some reason they moved it years ago. The Texas is currently in dry dock for restoration. One of the only surviving battleships in the world that served in both world wars.

It was patrolling with the Australian ship Perth, which was sunk prior to the sinking of the Houston. I'm guessing that's why the tag on the photo says Australia?

I think I was in the wrong here. I took the opportunity to take a cheap political shot in a thread that really shouldn't be. I was wrong, Taurus took the high road. I thought about deleting the Kamala tweet, but, no pun intended, can't unring the bell, it's out there now.

I lost 36 in my home town and two on my block. Guys i served with, played ball with, went to church with, and played hide and seek with. That was just during Vietnam and not the other conflicts. I always remember. :yesnod:
