Damn. Times must be hard, he had to sell the top of the guitar, where the tuning pegs should be.

I saw them, on The Revolution by Night tour, right here in H-Town! Remember the huge godzilla, not so much about the instruments.

Saw him in a bar in Raleigh, NC 30 years ago and I thought they look old then. LoL

Years ago he put out a pretty solid solo album called "Flat Out". It was a bit more guitar oriented hard rock than BOC was at the time. Rolling Stone wrote one of the nastiest bad reviews of any album I ever saw. The writer got all tied up in pointing out that unknown producer Donald Roeser ruined the album because he didn't understand Buck. He went on and on about it.

Idiot never realized that Buck Dharma IS Donald Roeser! Buck is just a stage name that had stuck around for him. I wrote RS a letter and mailed it with proof of delivery pointing this out, as well as sending the BOC fan club the review. A couple of issues later there was an apology from RS and I never saw that writer again......idiot.

The fun thing on the album was the weird noises and backwards talking that was one track. It was at the height of nuts saying bands worshipped stan because everything was backmasked to praise satan. This track was just the weirdest sounds....so we recorded it onto reel to reel and played it backwards. It was the sound of two people playing ping pong and laughing as they played......!!! Brilliant!!!

I saw them play the Spectres album late 70's. Laser light show was spectacular. Watching the drums spit out light though the smoke above our heads felt like driving down a country road on a sunny day with tree shadows hitting you. Could see mailboxes and telephone poles whizzing by... By the time he got done the car was doing like 800mph. Lead guy had a wrist laser unbeknownst to the audience and he shot it at a big mirrored disco ball above the stage. When it hit there as a huge flash that blinded everyone. That had me worried for a while

Eddie played a headless guitar, a Steinberger, on a few songs.

I've always liked the Erlewine Lazers like Johnny Winter used to play.

We need to start thinking about what kind of world we’re leaving to Keith.

that lead singer is why much of the avilable laser show stuff got banned. he was sweeping the crowd and there were a lot of injuries reported. They made him wear a device to prevent it from working below the angle the crowd was at and THEN they added the mirror ball. A few times with the ball and it was the end of a hand held laser for him and everybody else....

Heard that was banned. Didn't get any details though. Quite the experience. I remember sticking my hands up into the light above our heads thinking it would cast a shadow but as far as I could tell it did not. Super trippy, went straight through me like I was a window pane :D :leaving:
