"Swatting" times five

We were driving east through Missouri today and I have never seen so many cops driving past me in the other direction. I lost count- dozens of them.

This was why:

Police across Missouri, including departments in the Ozarks, are investigating swatting texts and calls regarding school shootings.

The incidents happened at Springfield’s Kickapoo High School, Ozark High School, Carthage High School, Carl Junction High School, and Branson High School.

It's in the article. Back in the day we called them "bomb scares". A call (these were texts) designed to cause a SWAT team to engage.

At the same time, the NC state zoo received a similar threat. My guess, a coordinated attack from some web based group of zit faced losers.

Iowa schools went thru that last week. Imagine being a parent and finding out your kids school had a bomb threat or active shooter threat.

WE need to change the laws so that when people call in fake reports just to drive up hysteria or get revenge on someone they are held responsible for the total cost of the police effort. Plus jail time so they can get intimate with real criminals.

I had never heard of the term 'swatting' until last month when a bomb threat was called in 5 or 6 days in a row on local schools here in Fresno county. The source was traced overseas. It is a way to cause terror, use up our resources, and break down our moral. If you get a nation afraid of sending their kids to school, you have a nation of frightened, paranoid people who are easier to manipulate.

I think the penalty for swatting should be a public flogging, followed by a public hanging. I consider it terrorism and treason. :seasix:

Really as it's been fair common for 5 plus years.
Gamers are known to be do it to their online competition the bunch of little ****s.
People have been killed over it and some have been charged.

Just a week so ago someone did it town south of me in middle of the night.
Dad heard something grabbed his gun and almost was shot by police. The report was th eir son was high on meth and was going to kill his family. They used the kids name so it was somebody who knew him. Almost ended badly.
These assholes need not only be prosecuted for it they need to be held financially responsible.
I can tell you that if someone did that to me and I found out who no place would be safe for them.

Jerk offs, and sometimes its not fake.....way back when I just got out of the Army (circa 1974) the local radio station (no 24 hour TV news then) was reporting a "race riot" at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach based on phone calls to the radio station.

I loaded up my Browning A-5 shotgun in my '67 Camaro and was there in about 10 minutes and got my little brother off the ballfield and we took off... Turned out to be mostly isolated fist fights but still pretty unnerving.

They're talking max sentence of 10 years in prison. Where he is located, He'll get credits automatically and be out in 4 to 6. The SOB needs to serve 50 years hard labor on a work farm, IMO. In fact, lets bring back work farms. Free labor, make stuff, be productive instead of having those ****ers pump iron, watch TV, and eat honey buns.
