Enough of this home improvement rigamarole, let's get to the serious stuff......:D

Very nice, how many hours to clay bar from start to finish, and do you put anything on once the clay is off the car,,, thanks.
Also, do you, or can you, use an orbital polisher during the process?

Just regular detail spray to clay, another coat of detail spray to finish, nothing complicated.
The finish on the cars that I take in are in relatively good shape to begin with, we do no machine buffing nor paint correction (wet sanding). Not set up for that and don't want to contend with the mess.
Very simple process, one will clay bar, one will follow up to take off the wet detail liquid residue, the third will come behind and hand buff.
This gang has it down to 30-35 minutes. The rest of the time we sit around drink coffee, eat donuts, and BS, we do have fun.
Sole purpose of claying just takes off the built up contanements on the finish surface, which can dull it a bit. Does not take out scratches or swirl marks, you'll need to use a more aggresive system for that.

Atlas TD6MR, when I got that about 15 years ago, it was $1195. Now they are going for $2700-$2900.

I've been looking for a home lift, and it seems like most affordable ones are 6klb. I need something that will handle my F-250, and if I stay with something like a scissor, they jump to 12klb and jump to around $10k.
Quickjack has a 7klb model that looks like it would work, but I'm wary of ~6600lb on it.
Was your garage poured for that lift, or was it a later addition?

If you do not have the time, or energy to clay, have you ever used an alcohol-based solution to clean before using a liquid wax or polish,,, thanks.

No, don't use any pre-cleaners beforehand, claying is easy, even for one person, just ensure surface is clean of dust or any grit settled on finish.

Wouldn't recommend that particular model for anything over 6K lb weight.
Probably a 4 post would work if you have the room.

I have room, but don't want to lose it. Also, it's very hard to find a 4 post that would clear my 7' high truck cab. Still looking at scissors because I can park over the top and I don't need any extra (I've got 6) garage spaces. Thx for the pics. I'll need to saw and repour.
